Be part of a team of world-class User Experience (UX) Designers who are improving the lives of those living with diabetes. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing the next generation of Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) systems.
As a member of the User Experience Design (UXD) team, you will be creating compelling experiences and promoting the User Experience Design discipline across Dexcom. As a UX Designer you will be engaged in a wide variety of concurrent tactical and strategic activities. You will help to ensure UX is integrated throughout the development process, collaborate with team members, and help establish a new breed of best-in-class CGM products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create breakthrough user-centered UX designs that are usable, safe, meaningful, and actionable for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
Build strong relationships across the organization to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed
Conduct and contribute to full range of UX activities without need of direct supervision (workshop facilitation, problem definition, persona creation, journey mapping, use cases, information architecture, task analysis, experience models, flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, user feedback, metrics, etc)
Effectively communicate design intent and trade-offs within multidisciplinary design teams (including, but not limited to, project managers, developers, engineers, user research, human factors, clinical, & regulatory)
Collaborate with other UX team members, developers, and content writers to make user experience design decisions for mobile and wearable interfaces
Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines
Heighten Dexcom's overall understanding of user experience design by providing guidance on best practices, trends, and innovations
Act as a user experience evangelist within diversely skilled project teams and a catalyst for positive change

2+ years industry work experience in a design and/or UX-related role
Experience designing information architectures or diagramming navigation
Experience sketching ideas for a new product on a whiteboard or paper
Experience using the InVision, Adobe Suite, Sketch, or similar
Experience in creating motion graphics a plus, but not required
Have participated in a full product cycle, seeing your work through from concept to launch
Familiarity with usability heuristics and reviewing products using this methodology
Ability to present ideas and concepts to internal stakeholders and customers
Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fluid, fast-paced open office environment
Familiarity with methods associated with a user-centered design process
Prior work experience with web app, iOS, or Android native platforms
Strong English language skills
Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience.
Bachelor Degree in the field of Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience or Interactive Design (IxD, Psychology, Software Engineering, Design or other applicable area, or equivalent work experience)

Generally focused on the look, feel, operation, user experience and functionality of a commercial website. Creates internal/external company web pages including graphics, animation and functionality. Designs web page layout and online content, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content and infrastructure for new product release and new web-hosted product offering. Performs development and maintenance programming for web pages and web applications. Performs web usability testing. Partners with Web Administrator to implement pages or applications into production. Assures web server and site technical performance. Develops, assesses and communicates website usage and security policies and standards. Provides technical assistance to Site Administrators. May assist in the planning of overall company strategy involving Internet usage. May make hardware and/or software purchasing recommendations or decisions regarding web development. May perform overall administration of sites at a company-wide level. Requires knowledge of commercial internet/web tools and protocols.
