What You'll Work On:

Fitbit's design organization is dedicated to envisioning and crafting products and experiences that are the most intelligent, beautiful and engaging way for people to succeed in their health and fitness journeys. We are reinventing the way we engage with our users across device and software experiences.

As a UX Design Manager at Fitbit, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring a design team to create engaging experiences for our users across multiple platforms. You will be a thought leader for design at Fitbit and within the community, and drive innovation for our products alongside product, research and engineering leaders.

This position requires a proven track record of leading product design teams as well as working hands on to design innovative digital consumer products from inception to launch. Qualified candidates will have a strong foundation in design process and design strategy.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Deep experience in the field of design and design leadership

  • 8+ years designing and delivering interactive experiences across a range of platforms

  • 2+ years leading teams responsible for digital product design in the consumer technology industry

  • Ability to work with business and engineering leaders to define and execute a strategy for our emerging service business unit

  • Expertise in user-centered design methods

  • Great communicator (verbal, written, and visual)

  • Exceptional collaborator with product management, engineering, user research, content team and all facets of design to ensure a smooth product development process

  • Incredible design skills and product sense that inspire the teams you lead

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in a relevant design field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Passion for Fitbit's mission

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience designing for a health and/or service company

  • Experience working with a design strategy firm or consultancy

  • Experience working on wearable or connected devices

Your Impact: * Based on empathy and data, you'll create and deliver product and feature concepts into market * Grow and inspire a team of UX designers to do the best work of their lives * Translate the science of agriculture into useful and usable solutions for the world's farmers * Engage in user researcher with farmers in their field and equipment around the world * Demonstrate the power of prototyping to learn quickly and iteratively * Contribute constructively to the improvement of designers, our design craft, and their work through design and product reviews * Create a strong design point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends Basic qualifications: * 4+ years of UX management experience * 7+ years of experience in UX Design * Experience in making data-driven design decisions * Proven experience in leading UX initiatives including mapping the end-to-end customer experience, identifying the most important problems, prototyping to solve those problems, and lead a team to build an MVP * Proven experience in delivering digital products into market and iterating improvements * Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams at varying stages of the design process * Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant field; Master's preferred * Mastery of design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and Invision Preferred qualifications: * Endlessly curious about people, technology, design, and life * Tenacious about solving problems and seeing projects through to the end, we call it "grit" * A love for the craft of Design and Design Thinking and our ever evolving toolset * Ability to speak about your work with measured passion and data * Energy amplifier — things get better when you enter the room * Paper and pen come before you sit down at a screen * Quick and dirty feedback is your oxygen when breathing life into an idea What We Offer: Our teams are composed of industry experts, top scientists, and talented engineers.
