UX Design Lead


CEI is seeking an experienced UX Design Lead to join our award-winning UX Design Practice (part of our Solutions division).
The right candidate will have prior experience engaging in UX research and design, estimating projects, assisting with pre-sales, setting design standards / methodology, and building elegant solutions for customers. We are seeking a customer service driven, passionate information architect and UX/UI designer to shepherd projects and mentor team members. Ultimately, this person will lead the local UX practice and build / manage a UX team. Candidates should answer yes to all of the following:

UX Design Lead responsibilities will include the following:
Formulate / shepherd the research and design process
Interface with customer C-level / key stakeholders to align UX approach to needs and assist in proposal process
Assist customers with UX research through: interviews, ethnographic studies, card sorting, usability testing, and other research methods
Assist customers with UX / visual design through: workshops, user scenarios, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity design
Personal billing commensurate with size of practice / pipeline
Manage (and hiring) of design team members (likely year 2)
Support sales group through design credibility, assessments, qualification, and estimates
Required Skills

UX Design Lead candidates should have the following required skills / qualifications:
8+ years experience across multiple facets of UX lifecycle: user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design
Advanced knowledge of UX design tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, InVision, Sketch, and other relevant tools
Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates a holistic UX process, including research insights, information architecture, sketches/wireframes, and high fidelity designs
Excellent communication / presentation skills to stakeholders ranging from executive to team level
Experience working in Agile / Lean environments
Bachelors (or above) in Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field
Front-end development skills a plus (e.g., HTML5, CSS, jQuery)
Prior consulting experience (working with multiple clients) a plus
Strong organization and time management skills
Ability to work well in stressful situations and multitask within a fast-paced environment
