Position Summary

We're on a journey to transform the complicated and jargon-filled experience of taxes into a delightful, engaging and simple to understand conversation.   • You'll start with deep customer empathy to understand our customers to create narratives, and journeys.

  • You'll dig into who our customers are and what language they use, then ensure our products speak their language.

  • You'll make the complex simple by communicating in plain language.

  • You'll collaborator across Design, Product, Engineering and Marketing to ensure a consistent voice.

  • You'll be a storyteller at heart who can craft and orchestrate cohesive narratives across touch-points, both in the product, customer care and marketing.

  • You'll be familiar with the development of design systems and language frameworks.

  • You'll be a champion for a content strategy and principles for Voice and Tone to be used consistently across teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Connect customer journey needs with business goals, design direction, and brand guidelines to design content effectively for end-to-end customer experiences.

  • Craft user interface text, conversational UI scripts, product messaging, landing pages, emails, and other project deliverables.

  • Transform complex tax and finance jargon into conversational, approachable language customers love and appreciate.

  • Create and evolve content frameworks and patterns based on design and brand guidelines.

  • Test and validate your content, iterate until it's clear and then see to its roll out to millions of customers.

  • Collaborate with Design, Product, Engineering and Tax Expert partners to create delightful customer experiences.

  • Solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews.

  • Advance a strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, customer feedback, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends.

  • Drive the vision for product language and content and ensure cohesive product narratives; Document your strategies with guidelines, and establish best practices and strategy principles.

  • Educate cross-functional partners on the role of UX writing and content strategy throughout the product development process.

  • Work on multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Content Strategy, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Human Centered Design or other area(s) of relevant focus.

  • Up-to-date "Online Portfolio."

  • At least 5 years of experience with digital content strategy and at least 3 years of experience working collaboratively with/on a UX design team(s).

  • 5+ years of experience in content design, content strategy, or related field.

  • Deep knowledge of design principles and methods.

  • Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator.

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adhere to deadlines.
