Our business unit, United Technologies Research Center (UTRC), is currently seeking a Digital Technology Infrastructure Lead. The candidate will report to the Director of Digital Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Solely responsible for all aspects of DT Infrastructure at UTRC planning, deployment, support;

  • Interface with Corporate Infrastructure teams and coordinate Corporate driven projects;

  • Support UTC/UTRC specific infrastructure: servers, networks, storage, data center, end user devices, foundational middleware and applications;

  • Provide infrastructure support for projects that must comply with DFARS/NIST 800-171, US Govt regulations;

  • Provide Infrastructure support for research projects involving non standard computers, networks, peripherals, software and access;

  • Develop and support external cloud infrastructure that integrates with UTC on premise capability.

Experience/ Qualifications:

  • US Citizen or US Person status required.

  • At least 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure;

  • Experience with operating systems (Windows and Linux variants), platforms (servers, clusters, desktops, laptops, mobile), computer hardware, server architecture (physical and virtual), storage systems, networks (WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls);

  • Experience with foundational middleware and applications such as Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, email/Outlook, web access, security suites and collaboration technologies;

  • Experience with Azure, AWS or equivalent cloud platforms;

  • Experience with desktop virtualization of Windows, Red Hat and UBUNTU.

  • Knowledge of ITC (International Trade Compliance) rules, regulations and procedures;

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and work in a time-sensitive, high pressure environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of UTC DT policies, standards and procedures;

  • Knowledge of IT security and applications;

  • Experience deploying solutions compliant with DFARS/NIST 800-171, US Govt regulations;

  • US government security clearance at the Secret level or higher

Education:

BS or BA Degree in a technical program desired but not required.

Advanced Degree is a plus.

Location:

Farmington, CT or East Hartford, CT

Required Status: US Citizen or US Person required as work may involve visibility to ITAR related projects.

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst Position is responsible for helping to safeguard the company's assets, intellectual property, and computer systems in support of the company's business objectives. The applicant will be responsible for detecting cyber attacks, and escalating or remediating as necessary. The SOC Analyst works among a team of skilled analysts to address complex or difficult problems as needed within a Cyber Security Fusion Center environment. The focus of this role is working within the Collins Aerospace DT Cybersecurity department reporting to the Sr. Manager, Cybersecurity Response & Application Security. Job responsibilities are: * 1. Consistent monitoring of data streams from several sources * 2. Constant monitoring of all inboxes to ensure emails are dealt with promptly * 3. Responding to identified threats efficiently within prescribed Service level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure all standard processes are followed * 4. Researching website information to determine if it is potentially malicious and recording the results * 5. Identifying activity anomalies in activity and determining if it is potentially malicious * 6. Remediation of incidents placed into the SOC queue by other parties * 7. Escalating security Incidents to parties responsible for remediation or additional analysis * 8. Escalating issues as necessary to shift lead or SOC manager * 9. Following up on open items to ensure timely resolution. Escalation of older tasks for attention and immediate resolution * 10.Writing of daily shift handoff email to team to communicate any open items that require action during the next shift * 11.Working with various internal teams to refine the monitoring standard work to reduce false positives with identification and improve the opportunity for identifying malicious activity * 12.Making recommendations for adjustments to standard work as situations emerge that are not yet captured in documentation * 13.Ensuring any changes in ability to cover a shift are clearly communicated verbally and in writing to shift lead and SOC manager * 14.Monitoring Analyst is responsible for ensuring that if they cannot cover their shift, they have worked with their teammates to secure adequate coverage for the shift * 15.Various projects, reports, and tasks as assigned * 16.Monitoring web-based application for continuous uptime and escalation of any issues seen for resolution or investigation. Education * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related security discipline(s).
