Utiltiy Equipment Operator I - Solid Waste

Between the hours of 6:30 am and 5:00 pm; may be assigned an 8-hour schedule or a 10-hour schedule; work schedule may include a weekend day.

This position requires skilled work in the operation and maintenance of light and heavy equipment at a public solid waste facilities such as landfill, waste transfer, composting and recyclables collection sites. THIS SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION IS SUBJECT TO MANDATORY DRUG TESTING POLICIES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.

Qualifications:   Graduation from high school or equivalent and six months of experience in the operation and maintenance of trucks and construction equipment heavier than pickup trucks; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Necessary Special Requirements: Valid driver's license. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required or the ability to obtain within 60 days of appointment.
