Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Cook in the Carlson Recovery Center program at Behavioral Health Network!

NOTICE

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st - through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN's Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Additionally, BHN is a Tobacco Free workplace. All Staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors agree not to smell of or use Tobacco or ENDS products while on paid work time or within sight of any BHN facility.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Carlson Recovery Center program with the following:

  • Ordering food, planning menus, and preparing nutritious and healthy meals for the individuals served.

  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary food preparation environment.

  • Managing a food budget.

  • Transporting food to other sites, as needed.

  • Maintaining their ServSafe certification.

  • Adhering to kitchen compliance standards set by the Department of Public Health.

Who are we?

The Carlson Recovery Center in Springfield, MA is a 32 bed Acute Treatment Services program that serves those 18 years of age and older who are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and are at the beginning stages of their recovery. A 24-hour multidisciplinary team provides acute treatment and detoxification services.

Behavioral Health Network is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children, adults, families and communities in Western Massachusetts since 1938. What are we looking for in a Cook?

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred).

  • ServSafe certification (required).

  • Food preparation experience in a program (preferred).

  • Valid Driver's License (required).

  • Commitment to client empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration.

  • Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems (required).

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Greenfield Substance Use Recovery programs with the following: * Adhering to kitchen compliance standards set by the Department of Public Health * Maintaining a clean and sanitary food preparation environment. * Ordering food, planning menus, and preparing nutritious and healthy meals for the individuals served using clear and appropriate communication to all parties. * Transporting food to other sites, as needed. * Maintaining their ServSafe certification. * Learning how to work independently, manage a food budget, do menu planning, and maintain a kitchen to DPH standards and regulations.
