East Tennessee State University (ETSU) is currently seeking applications for a Utility Worker-Driver at our Johnson City location.

This position will operate under general supervision and involve executing maintenance, custodial, and construction tasks of an unskilled or semi-skilled nature. The primary responsibility will be operating light motor vehicles. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, and willing to work overtime as needed, including weekends and evenings. Additionally, candidates should be prepared to report to work during emergency closures or inclement weather situations to perform essential functions, such as snow removal duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to manage time, to ensure all tasks are completed in a given time.

• Ability to demonstrate good communication skills.

• Ability to operate the following equipment: reel mowers, scag mowers, weed eaters, push mowers, hand tools, hand sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, tractors, blowers, and utility vehicles.

• Specialized Skills in mowing direction, patterns, and utilization of Turf Mowers.

• Ability to produce a high-quality result in all aspects of Turf maintenance duties.

• Ability to work in adverse conditions all seasons of the year.

• Knowledge and Ability to perform many different specialized tasks pertaining to horticulture.

Required Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in turf maintenance.

Salary 13.65 an hour
