Job Overview:

The Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

/General Responsibilities:
/

  • Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine.

  • Washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.

  • Sweeps, mops, cleans and vacuums floors.

  • Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.

  • Transfers supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as pantry and dish room.

  • Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.

  • Polishes silver.

  • May wash pots.

  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.

  • Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.

  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

/Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location):/

  • Generally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events.

  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Description: Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to help oversee the cleanliness and safety of all vessels, crew and guests. This person will work with Port Captain, Captain, Engineer, Cruise Manager, Boat Supervisor, and Culinary team to ensure the highest level of customer service, safety and sanitation. Essential Functions: * Maintain all Engineer logs that pertain to all vessels * Have a good understanding of electrical, mechanical, diesel engines and fluid systems * Partake in daily stand up meetings with Captain and crew * Complete work orders and return to the Port Captain * Comply with all fueling and pump out procedures * Complete start up and shut down duties daily * Complete vessel underway check logs * Conduct daily maintenance of vessels and logs * Notify the Port Captain when upcoming oil changes are needed, fueling, oil, filters, hydraulic fluid etc. * Assist management staff as necessary * Assist in boarding of passenger's and ensure passenger safety at all times * Project a positive and friendly attitude to all customer and crew * Work with Deckhands and assist when necessary * Assist in all set up for special events * Notify Captain and repair any safety discrepancies with vessels * Arrive neat and in a clean uniform * Snow removal as necessary * Maintain all vessels in Coast Guard ready conditions Qualifications: * Maintain current First Aid and CPR cards * Maintain current TWIC card * Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic machines * Basic plumbing and electrical skills * Ability to pass random Coast Guard drug screenings * Ability to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds Equipment Used: * Radio, Telephone, Fax/Copier, Computer, Mechanical Equipment, Basic Maintenance Tools Aramark is an EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION employer – Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran Aramark Corporation San Francisco CA
