Pay
This position is an hourly position at pay grade 103.
Attendance
Non-Rotating forty (40) hour work week, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview
The Utility Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the six (6) Wastewater Treatment Plants and the City's lift stations. These positions are also responsible for the maintenance and operation of the wastewater collection lines. Employees must remain in compliance with TCEQ and other applicable laws and regulations while working within the scope of their position.
Responsibilities
Conducts regular tours of the facilities
Performs preventive maintenance on engines, generators, pumps, settling tanks, filters, chemical feed systems, and other equipment
Reviews job performance by observing and critiquing work techniques
Trains and mentors other employees
Performs basic to intermediate process control measurements, testing of DO, pH, and Residual Analysis meters, sludge quality, aqueous and atmospheric sulfide levels, etc.
Performs emergency chemical release responses, containment, and evacuation procedures
Demonstrates basic knowledge of plant flow and treatment process

Performs process lab analysis and records data for residuals
Maintains accurate inventory of all treatment chemicals
Monitors distribution system pressures remotely
Activates pumps, motors and valves remotely
Receives chemical deliveries
Applies knowledge of TCEQ regulations
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma/GED
No prior experience required
Class B CDL license required within one (1) year of hire
Class D Wastewater license required within one (1) year of hire
A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
