Utility Technician

Description: Providing a broad range of professional, engineering, and technical services to the telecommunications and power delivery markets. We have a current opening for a Utility Field Design Associate. Supporting our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all our services, which include Communications Design Services, Energy Distribution Services, Utility Pole Inspection, and Environmental Services.

Responsibilities:

• This person will be going out into the field with another technician to collect data off utility poles.

• Taking pictures, Using GPS units to take measurements and taking physical measurements of different components / on the poles.

• Out in the field in the field for a period of time then will be in the office loading that data into their software. This will determine whether the pole is able to be loaded with new wire or if it needs to be replaced.

• Designing utility poles following attachment standards

• Submit data into the tracking system and from there it will get accepted or kicked back. In addition, some design work will be performed.

• Travel will be expected and depending on the season, conditions, project will fluctuate. Overtime is paid at 1.5x.

Qualifications:

• Field experience

• Design software experience (OCalc Pro is a plus)

• Computer Proficient

• Physical ability for outside data collection

• Driver's License in Good Standing - Company Vehicle provided.

• Drug and MVR Check

• Okay with flexible travel schedule, overnight travel will be required.
