Job Description

supervises, evaluates, plans, and participates in the day-to-day operations and mechanical maintenance and repairs of all the Base Kodiak plants, POL facilities, and their respective base-wide distribution systems. This position is responsible for supervising subordinates in separate plant locations. Ensures all plants, including POL and fuel services, are operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and industry best management practices.

  • shall create operating standards and best practices for managing day-to-day operations of internal and external workforces executing facility and utility systems.


  • hold at least one State of Alaska license or certification as defined in Section 5.16 or the FFOM. If not currently held, it must be obtained within 30 days prior to contract start.
  • minimum of 10 years experience as a licensed industrial plant or fuel facilities operator. This experience should include the use, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computers, system monitoring equipment and automated plant equipment
  • minimum of three years experience supervising other workers who monitor, operate, maintain, and repair industrial plants or fuel facilities, as well as their systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the safety hazards and necessary safety precautions connected with plant operation.
  • ability to establish standard plant operating and safety procedures.
  • possess strong knowledge of engineering operations (e.g., facilities, utilities, maintenance, and design).
  • Proficiency in the use of standard software programs to keep accurate and detailed electronic and hard copy records, generate reports, and maintain plant and POL O & M Manuals
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of the regulations governing the plants and fuel facilities and their distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of the repair, maintenance practices, and needs for fuel facilities or plants and distribution systems.

VIEW JOBS 7/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-10-17T00:00 Job Description Air Traffic Managers must be familiar with standard Air Traffic Control (ATC) concepts, practices, and procedures. A manager must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Managers lead and direct the work of others to accomplish the daily operation of the facility. Duties include: * Reporting to the Area Manager. * Supervising. * Scheduling. * Overseeing and directing training for controllers. * Ensuring that all reporting requirements are met. * Ensuring all facility directives and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are followed. * Acting as a liaison with airport management and FAA at local levels. Air Traffic Managers must also function as Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS) by controlling air traffic on and within the vicinity of the airport according to established procedures and policies to prevent collisions and minimize delays arising from traffic congestion. ATCS's are responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of air traffic through the nation's airspace. ATCS duties include: * Answering radio calls from arriving and departing aircraft. * Issuing landing/takeoff instructions. * Issuing information such as runway to use, wind velocity and direction, visibility, taxiing instructions, and pertinent data on other aircraft operating in vicinity. * Issuing air traffic clearances. * Providing advice based on their own observations and information from the National Weather Service, IFR control facilities, flight service stations, pilots, and other sources. * Taking and disseminating weather observations at Limited Aviation Weather Reporting Station (LAWRS) or Supplemental Aviation Weather Reporting Station (SAWRS) facilities. * Transferring control of aircraft to receiving facilities when aircraft leave their airspace, and receiving control of aircraft coming into their airspace. * Operating various types of equipment such as: radios, telephones, interphones, computer systems, radar, recording systems, weather equipment, light guns, airport/runway lighting systems, and backup equipment. * Alerting airport emergency crews and other designated personnel when aircraft are having flight difficulties. * Coordinating with and issuing instructions to airport vehicles and personnel. * Maintaining and disseminating records of daily operations. * Other duties as assigned Prior to being considered for this position, applicant must: 1.
