Summary:
supervises, evaluates, plans, and participates in the day-to-day operations and mechanical maintenance and repairs of all the Base Kodiak plants, POL facilities, and their respective base-wide distribution systems. This position is responsible for supervising subordinates in separate plant locations. Ensures all plants, including POL and fuel services, are operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and industry best management practices.

Duties:

  • shall create operating standards and best practices for managing day-to-day operations of internal and external workforces executing facility and utility systems.

Qualifications:

  • hold at least one State of Alaska license or certification as defined in Section 5.16 or the FFOM. If not currently held, it must be obtained within 30 days prior to contract start.
  • minimum of 10 years experience as a licensed industrial plant or fuel facilities operator. This experience should include the use, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computers, system monitoring equipment and automated plant equipment
  • minimum of three years experience supervising other workers who monitor, operate, maintain, and repair industrial plants or fuel facilities, as well as their systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the safety hazards and necessary safety precautions connected with plant operation.
  • ability to establish standard plant operating and safety procedures.
  • possess strong knowledge of engineering operations (e.g., facilities, utilities, maintenance, and design).
  • Proficiency in the use of standard software programs to keep accurate and detailed electronic and hard copy records, generate reports, and maintain plant and POL O & M Manuals
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of the regulations governing the plants and fuel facilities and their distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of the repair, maintenance practices, and needs for fuel facilities or plants and distribution systems.

The Laboratory Service Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and directly supervising the activities of the Laboratory department in accordance with Providence philosophy, objectives, policies, procedures and standards. In this position you will: * Demonstrate the ability to provide leadership by developing a positive work environment. * Provide guidance and support to staff members to ensure that they are able to perform their work effectively and efficiently. * Demonstrate professional interpersonal and verbal skills when communicating with a wide variety of people from differing literacy levels, languages and cultures. * Exhibit the necessary skills to build effective teams by coaching, building trust, and training staff to work collaboratively and cohesively with other staff and/or team members in a variety of settings. * Develop and implement work schedules and work assignments fairly, equally, and in a manner which is consistent with staff learning and development plans. * You will be responsible for completing and regularly monitoring the departmental operating and capital budgets. Required qualifications for this position include: * Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science * National Certification as Medical Technologist (MT) from the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MLSO from ASCP * Alaska driver's license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance * Knowledge and experience with Laboratory Information Systems Preferred qualifications for this position include: * Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire * 4 years of training or experience in high complexity microbiology * A minimum of 5 years work experience in the clinical laboratory with ) or more years as a staff Medical Technologist during career About Kodiak Island Medical Center Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island.
