Utility Service Representative - Cashier

Position Description

The purpose of this position is to provide customer service support to utility customers and City departments. This is accomplished by receiving telephone and walk-in customers, providing information regarding new services, termination of existing services, payments and billing issues, processing payments for utility services, setting up new utility services for customers, ensuring new customers have information pertaining to trash collection times, recycling and important utility phone numbers, creating work orders to begin new services, collecting and processing department deposits, counting and balancing cash drawer and completing the appropriate documentation forms.

Other duties include providing City departments with receipts of money deposits, inputting deposit and customer information into computer software and interacting with other employees and citizens. This position does not provide supervision to other employees.
