Utility Repairman

COMMUNICATION REGARDING TEST INFORMATION WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL & TEXT

PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Performs maintenance, repair, and construction of underground water or wastewater systems. Lifts/moves and operates smoke blowers, fresh air blowers, compressors, tampers, electrical generators, concrete saws, jack hammers, tapping machines, and boring rigs.

Assists Equipment Operators with excavations and climbs into excavations to apply shoring materials and finish excavation of pipe with shovels. Tests repairs and ensures sanitation and safety of workers and customers. Uses computer to input project information on work orders and use email.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in water/wastewater utility maintenance, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid driver's license to apply. Possession of a valid Louisiana driver's license prior to appointment.

• Capable of responding to site within one hour of being notified.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION: Examination will be a multiple-choice exam.
