The Opportunity | Utility Person -- Machine Shop (All Shifts)

Performs a full range of warehouse functions for the machine shop including distributing of materials and parts to our machines as well as operating a saw for production orders.

Your Challenge:

  • Perform saw cut operations for production orders.

  • Operate and setup hydro testing and related activities for required components.

  • Distribute material from production orders.

  • Load/Unload/Debur/Wash machined components.

  • Other duties as needed.

Your Expertise:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.

  • High School or GED required; Technical/Trade School preferred

  • Must be certified forklift operator

  • Ability to operate a dual or single column saw

  • Use of common hand tools, basic math and shop safety

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling 50lbs; Standing, Sitting, Walking

  • CNC Machine Operator experience is a strong asset

  • Must be willing/able to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.

VIEW JOBS 5/23/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-21T00:00 Job Title: Injection Molding Technician Department: Engineering Reports To: Engineering Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Full Time Supervise the work of others: No Position Summary: This person will be responsible for troubleshooting the injection molding process in production to ensure mold presses are making good parts, while also maintaining efficient operations and assisting with continuous improvements. This position will also require occasional mold changes and help on the shop floor as needed. Assistance in the liquid silicone injection molding department will be the primary area of focus, with some thermoplastic molding responsibility on occasion. Duties and Responsibilities: This list is not comprehensive, but meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties will be required and/or assigned. * Troubleshooting the injection molding process to ensure good quality parts are being made. * Help meet production goals, by working efficiently and minimizing machine downtime. * Fill out all production paperwork accurately and timely. * Record all process changes. * Maintain an organized and clean work area. * Occasionally help with mold changes. * Assist process engineers with new mold setups, establishing parameter ranges. * Train new and existing production mold operators on proper molding techniques. * Help give breaks to the operators, running machines if necessary as time permits. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Experience and Skills: Minimum Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * 2+ years' experience in some sort of molding department role. * Strong technical knowledge of injection mold machines and auxiliary equipment preferred. * Experience with liquid silicone injection molding is a plus. * Strong communication skills. * Ability to work as a team with other mold processors and lead by example. Language Skills: Ability to read reports and/or procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups including managers, engineers, setup personnel, mold operators and other production employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic math functions, figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, areas, circumferences, and volumes. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to quickly diagnose common issues and rationally respond in timely manner. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Maintains a valid Driver's License. Without assistance, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion, sit, bend, squat, twist, stand, climb, and walk for hours at a time. Must have good eye-hand coordination and ability to handle repetitive tasks. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Skill to use a personal computer and basic software packages such as Microsoft Office (Excel or Word). Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and facilitate teamwork. Equipment Used: Injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment.
