This position pays $39.54 per hour

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate in safe, correct manner all assigned equipment such as lift truck, front-end loader, man

lift, crane, etc. (training required)

Unload parts for the storeroom using forklift

Inspect, decontaminate, and clean air-purifying respirators monthly.

  • Posichek masks with Total Safety (Annual Inspection)

Perform and document monthly safety equipment inspections. Update each document as the inspections change or discrepancies are uncovered. Inspections to include the following:

Shelter In Place/Evac Kits

Stairs/Walking Surfaces

Scott Air Pak's (SCBAS)

Safety Equipment Lockers

Post Indicator Valves/Fire Sprinkler

Safety Shower/Eyewash

Ladders

Inergen & Halon Systems (schedule bi-annual service with ADT)

Harness, SRL, Lanyard (schedule yearly competent with Total Safety)

Full Face Respirator in Plant 4

First Aid Cabinets

Fire Protection Valves

Fire Extinguishers (schedule annual service with blackbird fire protection)

Emergency Lights

Emergency Escape Packs (10 min w/ hoods)

Driver Emergency Radio

SPCC Oil Inspection

Environmental Audit for hazardous waste areas (weekly)

  • Waste Generator to create label with assistance of Environmental Specialist

Maintain and document inspection records. Write work orders or bring to the attention of the appropriate department head deficiencies found during inspection.

Upload Safety Inspections to share drive after each month is completed.

Be able to take measurements and calculate the quantity and type of insulation materials needed to fulfill job requirements.

Maintain and optimize equipment insulation. Install metal cladding on insulation.

Apply protective coatings or paints to various surfaces, equipment or structures.

Assists as helper to other craftsmen such as Millwright, Welder, Electrician, etc. as needed.

Perform basic carpentry to assist shipping with the fabrication of shipping boxes, skids and custom pallets

Inspect, decontaminate, and clean air-purifying respirators monthly.

  • Posichek masks with Total Safety (Annual Inspection)

Coordinate yearly fire extinguishers inspection (blackbird fire protection)

Coordinate employee uniform service issues with the uniform company

  • Order new uniforms for new hires, sizes exchanges, coordinate extra servicing for T/A's.

  • Employees to follow process tag process for damaged items

Fill in for the head storeroom operator when operator is off

Monitor plant trash/waste (red trash bins, metal trash bins, roll off bins) (Weekly)

  • Call Waste Resources for roll off bin pick-ups

  • Call Kramer Metals for roll off bin pick-ups

Perform Quarterly Area 9 & 11 PGI

Run errands to make unique supply purchases.

File for safety department. (Should be monitored quarterly)

  • Prior year box should be left in safety office

  • Every year prior should be placed in Plant 1 container

Monitor breathing air bottles for SCBAs (take to total safety for air fill if needed)

Monitor SCBA apparatus' inspection dates (flow test required every 2 years)

Monitor SCBA bottles hydro dates (Requires new hydro every 5 years)

Monitor Propane tanks & get them refilled as needed

Monitor, clean & organize hazardous waste storage area

Monitor, report & work with Environmentalist for has waste pick ups

Ensure equipment approved for use e.g., forklifts, safety showers, ladders, etc.

Assist Storeroom Operator as needed

Work on special projects as needed

Forklift Support as needed (Daily)

Other duties as assigned

HS&E (Health/Safety/Environmental/Sustainability) RESPONSIBILITIES

Be knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable site, corporate and regulatory safety and environmental requirements.

Complete all applicable safety training as required.

Properly inspect, use and maintain necessary PPE in accordance with site PPE matrix.

Report all safety or environmental incidents immediately.

Maintain first aid supply inventory, notify HSE specialist for required items to replace.

Maintain records. As new inspections are developed, set up new files. Write work orders or bring to the attention of the appropriate department head deficiencies found during the inspection. Audit other department safety inspection records to make certain records complete. Deficiencies in record keeping are reported to the appropriate department head.

Interface with at least four departments: safety, maintenance, process safety, production

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.

Three plus years of comparable job experience working in the manufacturing, industrial environment.
