Job Title: Utility Operations Clerk

Job Description:

  • As the S1 This position is a Utility position will be required to learn skills and knowledge to perform all service level duties within the scope of Materials Management and Distribution as assigned. Your duties would include serving as back-up for Shipping, Receiving and Distribution, Surplus, and Building Receiving. Assist with loading and unloading materials, sort and coordinate materials, the deliver, as well as scan and track mail, and packages. You will work under direct supervision of the Manager, Supervisor or experienced staff member.

As the S2 Utility Operations Clerk you will be required to have skills and knowledge to perform all service level duties within the scope of Materials Management and Distribution as assigned. Your duties would include serving as back-up for Shipping, Receiving and Distribution, and Surplus. Assist with loading and unloading materials, sort and coordinate materials, the deliver, as well as scan and track mail, and packages.

This is a dual level posting where the hiring manager will determine the level according to the candidate.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed

As the S1 Utility Operations Clerk you will need the following:

  • High School Degree or GED

  • Some experience in customer service or delivering packages

  • Requires operational knowledge of package tracking systems

  • A valid driver's license is required and must be maintained

As the S2 Utility Operations Clerk you will need the above and the following:

  • Three (3) years of work experience with at least Two (2) years of delivery driver, warehouse, and Surplus experience or a combination of, and One (1) year of customer service experience

Preferred:

  • Hazmat Handling and knowledge of campus buildings

Skills Needed for both positions are as follows:

  • Required to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of hire

  • Must be able to drive mail step vans and box trucks

  • Must be able to operate pallet jacks, lift truck, and forklift

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills needed

  • Ability to:

  • communicate effectively with the supervisor, co-workers, and customers is required

  • understand written and verbal instructions is required

  • work well in fast paced environment and adapt

  • Basic computer skills are required

  • Scanning and tracking systems

Preferred:

  • Campus building location knowledge desired

  • Haz-Mat knowledge and experience is desired
