Compensation: $27.58- $29.58/ hour (DOE)

The Position Proposition:

We are seeking a Utility Locate Trainer to support our Q3 Contracting, Gas Operations in Commerce City, CO.

The Utility Locate Trainer will train utility locators to locate various types of underground utilities properly. The trainer will create and implement training programs, conduct hands-on training sessions, and evaluate trainees' performance.

• Provide New Hire and ongoing Locator field/classroom training on Xcel Energy Gas/Electric Utilities.

• Provide Virtual Reality Training on the UTTO simulator.

• Provide follow-up field support to the new hires once released into the field.

• Develop and update training programs as needed.

• Provide field support when there is no need for new hire training.

• Assist with closing out locate tickets as needed.

• Represents company in a courteous and professional manner with respect to conduct and appearance with contractors, vendors and customers.

• Proven communication and presentation skills, oral and written, with ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and personalities at all levels internally and outside the organization.

• Demonstrates respect towards fellow employees on any management or non-management level and honor requests made in relationship to work-related items.

• Performs all work functions in accordance with the QUS field policy and procedure as well as the QUS Safety Policies and Procedures.

• Other duties as assigned.

Educational & Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED is highly preferred.

• 5 years of Utility Locator experience or in a related field.

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving history.

• Provide effective training programs and hands-on sessions to trainees.

• Knowledge of various types of underground utilities and locating methods is highly preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Problem solving skills.

• Time management skills.

• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

• Ability to develop training programs.

• Ability to evaluate trainees' performance and provide feedback for improvement.

• Ability to read and interpret utility maps and utility records.

• Ability to read and interpret locate ticket request.

• Have the ability to deal with frequent changes, delays and unexpected events

• Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, and maintain confidentiality
