Performs intermediate skilled work in the operation of heavy motorized equipment; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

Operates roll-off truck, front-end loader, excavator, marsh master, bulldozer, Vac-Con truck (requiring tanker endorsement) and backhoe; operates large and small dump trucks.
Operates heavy construction and maintenance equipment in the construction, maintenance and repair of public works and utilities projects; performs labor and semi-skilled tasks as assigned; operates large and small tractors and mowers for various tasks, including mowing percolation ponds.
Prepares biosolids for processing and removal from plant.
Services and makes minor repairs and adjustments on equipment.
Operates light equipment, trains other operators and conducts semi-skilled tasks with pumps, motors and utility lines with hand tools or other means necessary to complete work projects.
Conducts general construction, maintenance and repair work at utility plants and with associated wastewater collection and water distribution systems.
Repairs and replaces water and reclaimed lines, wastewater lift stations and collection systems; and maintains plant equipment and operations as needed.
Installs, repairs and maintains drain ways, storm sewers, curbs, gutters and sidewalks; grades area; sets forms; pours and finishes concrete.
Repairs and maintains irrigation systems.
Flushes and repairs valves, fire hydrants and water lines, wastewater collection and treatment systems.
Serves as essential personnel during natural or man-made disasters and emergencies.
Performs related tasks as required.
Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. Requires two years of experience operating heavy equipment or closely-related experience.
A valid Florida commercial driver license (CDL) Class B is also required. A valid CDL Class A with tanker endorsement is required within six (6) months of employment.
