The essential duties for this job include:

  • Maintains liaison with and serves in a consultative capacity between the Department, federal agencies, utility companies, other entities and title companies.

  • Develops, maintains and updates utility relocation schedules.

  • Develops, implements and interprets Department policies and procedures as they relate to utility adjustments, relocations, negotiations, reimbursements and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.

  • Measures, coordinates and calculates payments such as betterment ratios, eligibility percentages, supplements, market value comparisons and relocation costs.

  • Meets with utility representatives and other entities to explain the utility accommodation policy and relocation and reimbursement processes, negotiate, answer questions and to resolve problems.

  • Monitors the installation/removal, adjustment or relocation of utilities.

  • Oversees current projects for progress and pending projects for planning purposes; consults and advises personnel in policies and procedures.

  • Prepares, processes and maintains documents, references and/or resource materials.

  • Reviews agreements, plans, specifications and billings submitted by the utility companies.

  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, public admin, real estate, engineering, management or accounting

  • Relevant Experience may be substituted for Education on a year per year basis.

Work Experience

This job titles below requires the following:

Utility Coordinator II:

  • 1 year in Utility related
  • (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
  • Relevant Experience may be substituted for Education on a year per year basis.

Utility Coordinator III:

  • 2 years in Utility related
  • (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
  • Relevant Experience may be substituted for Education on a year per year basis.

Utility Coordinator IV:

  • 4 years in Utility related
  • (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
  • Relevant Experience may be substituted for Education on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications

The following License and Certification is required for this job:

  • Valid Driver's License at time of application

  • Safety Impact Certificate

Safety Impact certification is not required at the time of application. The Safety Impact certification will be issued by TxDOT at the time of hire.

This position is Safety Impact and will be subject to random drug testing.

Responsible for regulatory compliance in all utility operations to include completion of required forms and reports as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Conducts water laboratory testing procedures and general maintenance and cleaning of water facilities. Performs all phases of maintenance and repairs to other park facilities, equipment, grounds, and electrical and plumbing systems utilizing equipment such as hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors, and other machinery. Responsible for preparing reports, revenue collection, accounting and providing visitor services. Available for emergency call outs as needed. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and branch rules, regulations and procedures. Experience: * Four years facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.
