As the Utilities Budget/Financial Analyst in the Finance Section of the Finance and Administrations Division of the Department of Utilities, you will be joining a highly dynamic and results oriented Finance team. The goal of the team is to ensure the financial integrity of the department for our utility customers.
What You Do
Provide supporting responsibilities for the County's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, SEC continuing disclosure, revenue bond covenants, revenue bond rating agency surveillances, revenue bond proceeds, and grant awards.
Coordinate, compile, and monitor Utilities' annual budgets and five-year capital improvement programs
Conduct rate modeling functions
Record and reconcile Utilities fixed assets
Monitor and reconcile the financial data of internal and external systems and software applications
Analyze, and interpret GASB pronouncements regarding enterprise fund reporting, plus federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations and determine their impact on accounting and budget functions.
Perform other work as required.
Here's What You Need
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; minimum of four years of increasingly responsible budgeting and accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in analyzing and interpreting authoritative literature such as federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Proficient with compiling, analyzing, and verifying financial accounts, records, and reports. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
The successful candidate must be detailed oriented, able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
The hiring range for this position is $65,858 - $77,383 annually.
