The Utility Technician will be responsible for performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all Process Refrigeration, HVAC, Boilers, and Compressed Air equipment. Will be responsible for monitoring and operating the Boilers and associated equipment along with the Ammonia compressors, Condensers and Air compressors. Also, assists with Employee Participation Guidelines of the PSM Program for the operating facility.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Maintains and operates ammonia compressors

  • Maintains and operates, condensers, fans, pumps, evaporators, plate heat exchangers and shell and tube heat exchangers

  • Understands and follows safe practices for ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment

  • Install, repair, tear down and rebuild system components on all phases of refrigeration and heating systems in the plant

  • Evacuate all or any part of the ammonia refrigeration systems in the plant

  • Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments

  • Understand component controls and overall control of the system

  • Electrical trouble shooting skills on refrigeration and heating systems

  • Test lines, components, and connections for leaks

  • Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment

  • Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems

  • Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system

  • Install wiring to connect components to an electric power source

  • Perform mechanical overhauls

  • Cut, bend, thread, and connect pipe and tubing

  • Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions

  • Use/update SOPs, drawing mark-ups and log books to communicate across shifts

  • Maintain and operate an Energy Management System

  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management System and regulations

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment

The requirements of this position include:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Maintain steam supply system including manual and automated valves, heat exchanger, and condensate traps

  • Maintain and operate high pressure boilers and feed water

  • Service traps and water feed for boilers and heat exchangers

  • Evaluate all parts of the steam or condensate systems and make adjustments as necessary

  • Dismantle and repair any malfunctioning components associated with the boiler systems

  • Take water tests and maintain chemical levels in the boiler and adjust as necessary

  • Perform other duties as assigned

VIEW JOBS 12/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-12T00:00 The purpose of the CIP Technician role is to assist CIP Team Lead and Production Operators in cleaning the production filling equipment. The CIP Technician will follow all applicable GMP and Safety guidelines (including chemical handling), and will complete the needed tasks/duties as scheduled or when needed. The CIP Technician reports directly to the Sanitation Supervisor. The responsibilities of this position include: * Attend pre-shift meetings with Sanitation Manager, Sanitation Supervisor, or Sanitation Lead * Effective communication within the sanitation team and other teams * Follow direction from the Sanitation Lead to clean the production filling equipment and the filler room during sanitation * Ensure proper chemical concentrations are achieved by completing titration checks and documenting appropriately * Complete tasks as needed and as indicated on Job Duties Worksheet * When production filling equipment is not in need of cleaning, work with the Environmental Technicians to clean other areas within the plant as part of the Master Sanitation Schedule * Deep cleaning duties as assigned * Train production employees how to clean and deep clean * Follow Chobani safety procedures * Follow Good Manufacturing Practices * Other duties/tasks as required The requirements of this position include: * High School Diploma or equivalent 3 - 6 months in a manufacturing environment preferred * Able to bend, stoop, and reach * Work with and around chemical cleaning compounds * Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 35 lbs * Must be able to stand for 12 hours * Operate powered equipment normally found in sanitation operations * Organize work and follow CIP schedules * Work as a team player is a must About Us: Since our founding 10 years ago, we've always been a different kind of company.
