SHIFT: 12 hour rotating

The Utilities Shift Operator - Refrigeration will be responsible for operating and maintaining all utility services and systems to support production, laboratory, and site operations on a continuous basis.

Primary responsibilities for role:

  • Perform routine operation, troubleshooting and some corrective maintenance on utility services and systems as assigned by areas of responsibility

  • Understand operation of equipment and systems and how they impact utility customers and site processes

  • Provide detailed documentation of all utility operations (data collection, log books)

  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document activity

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Utility Operations Procedures, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, job plans and/or equipment manuals to perform work

  • Adhere to cGMP, Safety, and Environmental procedures

  • Issue/complete job hazard analysis/safe work permits (hot work, excavating, confined space, hazardous atmosphere, etc.)

  • Responsible for maintaining training curriculum requirements

  • Complete required Utilities Qualifications

  • Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form

  • Assist with modification, installation and start up of new and existing equipment

Active member of the facility emergency response team

Operator I

Responsible for operating and maintaining industrial and commercial refrigeration equipment including but not limited to: Frick, York, Trane, Howden and Vilter compressor packages ranging in size from 5 to 2200 tons, compressor packages and/or centrifugal, reciprocating and screw compressors having R134A, R404, R717, R22 and R507 and various other refrigerant types, HVAC, Cooling towers and Evaporative Condensers

  • Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form

  • Build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams across multiple business units

  • Use personal computers and have experience with Window applications and Web based programs

  • Read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals

  • Demonstrate strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply this knowledge to the various tasks assigned.

  • Understand current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements

Understand industrial plant safety and environment requirement

Requirements:

Associates degree in a relevant technical field
2 years relevant experience

Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.

Operator II:

  • Perform all responsibilities as defined in previous job level

  • This job level requires proficiency in most areas of responsibility

  • May perform training of other technicians in areas of proficiency as needed

  • Troubleshoot and perform emergency maintenance

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as defined in previous job level

  • Able to work independently

Requirements:

Associates degree in a relevant technical field

Universal Refrigeration Certification

Ammonia Operator 1 License
4 years relevant experience supported by licenses

Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.

Operator III:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as defined in previous job level

  • Understands how area equipment functions in process applications

  • Proficiently use computerized maintenance management system to locate/identify replacement parts, coordinate multiple and interdisciplinary work requests, and investigate equipment repair history.

  • Ability to support installation, startup and commissioning of Capital Projects.

  • Knowledge and training as required by OSHA on applicable safe work practices and process safety management

Use communication skills to effectively resolve problems with technical personnel including department managers, supervisors and outside technical support.

Requirements:

Associates degree in a relevant technical field

6 years relevant experience supported by licenses

Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment or warehouse with rotating shifts. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, hand tools and moving machinery. Operates forklifts, tractors and power equipment. Exposure to high levels of noise and to dust/gas/fumes/steam. Exposure to extreme cold below 32* and on occasion, exposure to extreme heat above 100*. Exposure to vibration or oscillating movements of the extremities or the whole body. Occasional entry into confined spaces, requiring kneeling, crawling, climbing and squatting. Works at heights on scaffolding and/or on ladders. Walks on uneven ground. Personal protective equipment required such as; protective eyewear, chemical suits, safety shoes and/or rubber footwear, gloves, hearing protection and a respirator. Heavy lifting and carrying of 45lbs. for up to 6-8 hours per day, with a maximum lift of 75lbs. Work is performed standing, walking, bending and twisting waist for 4-6 hours per day. Frequent foot movements. Occasionally reaches above and below shoulder height. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Frequent hand movements with simple grasping of one hand with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, depth perception and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Performs a wide range of complex tasks. Adheres to a work schedule to meet production standards.

SHIFT: 1st HOURS: 1st Shift Monday - Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM Tech I: Responsibilities: * Responsible for equipment setup and operation in a biologics processing environment for plasma derived pharmaceuticals * Class A/B gowning qualified for facility cleaning of fill suites * Operate support fill equipment such as the glass inspection stations, rinser/tunnel, VAM and over sealer. Load carts with vials or syringes * Perform SIP/PBC Operations and filter integrity testing * Prepare chemical solution for production use. Strict adherence to Dept. Safety Rules. * Perform material handling and glass inspection activities * Detailed, general facility housekeeping i.e. minor cleaning, keeping work and production area neat and free from clutter, etc. * Cleaning - Sanitization per procedures, documentation of sanitization, mopping, disinfecting (floors, walls, equipment) * Operate motorized (ie Fork truck, lift jack, etc.) transport equipment for moving supplies * Real time documentation (i.e. BPR) during production run and maintain accurate records/logs * Monitor and operate various computer control systems for production activities i.e. SCADA and Andover Tech II: Responsibilities: * Performs all duties described at the Technician level * Fill room qualified with the ability to setup and operate fill equipment independently in an aseptic environment. Demonstrates department specific aseptic techniques and capabilitiesMay operate and monitor final container lyophilization, heat treatment, pasteurization, and cold box. * Operate filter integrity tester * Prepares and properly labels samples according to BPR and non-routine requestsIndependently interprets and utilizes information from company support systems * Assist with initial training responsibilities for the Technician level. Trains less experienced Technicians in the use of applicable computer systems * Maintain their acceptable aseptic gowning qualification and media fill certification Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must possess a good math and mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform skills in an aseptic environment. Production work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is desired. Must be able to function in an aseptic environment while maintaining the sterility of the product. Able to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Continuous standing, walking and some bending is required. Off shift and overtime work may be necessary. Requirements: * One year of pharmaceutical , chemical and/or production manufacturing experience in a regulated industry (FDA, USDA, NRC) obtained within the last 5 years OR * Graduation from an accredited college/university with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Business, Teaching or a related curriculum OR * Completion of the Bioworks Certification Program * Tech II: In addition to the requirements listed above, the Aseptic Filling Technician II typically requires one year of experience as an Aseptic Filling Technician. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with rotating shifts. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.
