PM Work Order Completion Utilities Operations
Performs routine preventive maintenance and completes utilities service requests. Implements and follows the site preventative maintenance program. Employee will ensure that work performed is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience. Employee will respond to emergency shutdowns and disruptions to repair or reset utilities equipment when necessary.
Specific duties include but are not limited to: Completing preventative maintenance with a minimum disruption of building services; performing preventative maintenance tasks; maintenance and installation of new and existing utilities equipment.
Instilling an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance.
Reports directly to site Chief Utilities Engineer.
Utilities Operation
Starting and stopping equipment to follow the site heating and cooling load demands using building automation. Maintaining proper level of salt in brine tank, (must be able to lift 50lb bags of salt)
Taking daily shift equipment readings and water sample testing.
Checks malfunctioning equipment and reports to service center or restore to satisfactory operating condition.
Safety
Maintains safety PPE stock from onsite storeroom to locations in power plant
Checks malfunctioning equipment and ascertains corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition by reporting to direct supervisor and resolving per instructions.
Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe workplace
Training
Completes required safety training and all other assigned training on time.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
MINIMUM REQUIRED
PREFERRED
Education/training
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of trades schooling in high pressure boiler and industrial refrigeration/ HVAC operation/theory.
Years of relevant experience
2+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance or school equivalent.
Skills and knowledge
Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation.
Experience in some or all the following areas: High pressure boiler theory, operation, and maintenance; Chillers in excess of 500 Tons; compressed air systems; basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting; and building automation systems.
Ability to perform boiler water, evaporative condenser, closed loop system water chemical treatment tests
Responsible for maintenance tasks, lubrication, inspection/repair of utilities systems and auxiliary equipment, general housekeeping of assigned areas
Applicant must have basic computer skills
Applicant must have a positive work attitude and be self-motivated, be able to work safely and autonomously in loud environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds
Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation drawings, troubleshoot problems, identify root causes, and propose and implement remedies.
Certifications/licenses
Class 1 Stationary Engineers License (Required)
Valid Missouri driver's license (Required)
EPA Universal Refrigeration License (Preferred)
OSHA 30 Hour Certification (Preferred)
Forklift, Scissor lift, and Aerial lift certification (preferred)
Physical work requirements and work conditions
Work requires the ability to lift/carry objects routinely as follows: Objects weighing 35-50 pounds lifted on a regular basis.
Required to learn site utilities operation to work power plant shift coverage when needed.
Mechanical lifting devices (carts, dollies, pallet jacks, forklift trucks, heavy machines, etc.) or team lifts should be utilized as necessary.
MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of the medical examination
