Utilities Engineer

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills / experience / certifications:
1.Site wide knowledge of Utility Systems
2.Change Control Process, Capable of being a Requester and support signature
3.ITS Investigator for both Classifications of Utilities
4.Document Author
5.Experience must include technical knowledge of utility equipment in order to hands on training
6.Involved/Responsible individual to address all audit observations
7.Qualification of one or more watch stations in utilities
8.Capable of project management of small capital projects
9.Knowledge of validation and trained on appropriate protocol development as it pertains to utilities. Individual must be able to develop protocols as requested by Validation.
10. Team player
11. Capable of shift rotation when job duties require
12. Trained and capable to write and execute Engineering Test Plans.
13. Capable of working with Project Engineer in a support role.
14. Capable of communicating on all levels of the organization
15. Capable of developing User Requirement for new equipment or buildings
16. Must be able to work closely with all utility support groups such as maintenance, instrumentation, electrical, PCS, Planning and EM.
17. Grade I Waste Water certification
18. NIULPE class V (optional until training is made available)

Requirements:

Engineer IV: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Field, plus 5 years of related experience. Experience in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry preferred

Senior Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Field, plus 6 years of related experience. Experience in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry preferred

Staff Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Field, plus 7 years of related experience. Experience in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry preferred

Principal Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Field, plus 8 years of related experience. Experience in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry preferred

No equivalency will be accepted in lieu of Degree.

Shift: Day Shift Mon-Fri with the flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed

Salary Grades: M07/M08/M09/M10

Work is performed in an office and a laboratory/manufacturing environment. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.

Exposed to occasional extreme cold below 32* in production areas. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.

Frequently sits for 4-6 hours per day. Stands for 2-4 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck and waist.

Repetitive foot movements. Color perception/discrimination, depth perception and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 50lbs.

Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Performs tasks by following a set of written or oral instructions/procedures.

SHIFT: 12 hour rotating The Utilities Shift Operator - Refrigeration will be responsible for operating and maintaining all utility services and systems to support production, laboratory, and site operations on a continuous basis. Primary responsibilities for role: * Perform routine operation, troubleshooting and some corrective maintenance on utility services and systems as assigned by areas of responsibility * Understand operation of equipment and systems and how they impact utility customers and site processes * Provide detailed documentation of all utility operations (data collection, log books) * Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document activity * Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Utility Operations Procedures, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, job plans and/or equipment manuals to perform work * Adhere to cGMP, Safety, and Environmental procedures * Issue/complete job hazard analysis/safe work permits (hot work, excavating, confined space, hazardous atmosphere, etc.) * Responsible for maintaining training curriculum requirements * Complete required Utilities Qualifications * Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form * Assist with modification, installation and start up of new and existing equipment Active member of the facility emergency response team Operator I Responsible for operating and maintaining industrial and commercial refrigeration equipment including but not limited to: Frick, York, Trane, Howden and Vilter compressor packages ranging in size from 5 to 2200 tons, compressor packages and/or centrifugal, reciprocating and screw compressors having R134A, R404, R717, R22 and R507 and various other refrigerant types, HVAC, Cooling towers and Evaporative Condensers * Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form * Build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams across multiple business units * Use personal computers and have experience with Window applications and Web based programs * Read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals * Demonstrate strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply this knowledge to the various tasks assigned. * Understand current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements Understand industrial plant safety and environment requirement Requirements: Associates degree in a relevant technical field 2 years relevant experience Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Exposure to high levels of noise and to dust/gas/fumes/steam. Exposure to extreme cold below 32* and on occasion, exposure to extreme heat above 100*. Exposure to vibration or oscillating movements of the extremities or the whole body. Occasional entry into confined spaces, requiring kneeling, crawling, climbing and squatting. Color perception/discrimination, depth perception and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye.
