Opportunity Summary:

Qvidian, a market leader in cloud-based sales execution solutions, has an opening for a User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) Designer. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a high-impact role in a fast-growing company with notable customers. We are a publicly-held company with offices in Cincinnati, Ohio and Chelmsford, Massachusetts. This position will be based in either our Cincinnati, OH or Chelmsford, MA office and we may consider remote work for the right candidate. This is a 6 month contract with the possibility of being extended.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively across the organization and with customers to lead research, generate wireframes and design as well as refine the user experience, all within product requirements and timetables for Qvidian's product portfolio.

You'll need to be creative and innovative when applying processes, while maintaining a positive approach and demeanor. You will be responsible for all phases of web and mobile user-centered design, including the ability to make strategic, practical and tactical UI design recommendations to customers and product teams based on business requirements, usability findings and standard UI design practices.

You must possess the ability to rapidly prototype low and high fidelity UI concepts, serve as a usability advocate, and promote a user-focused mindset across the Qvidian team. On a day-to-day output should be user-centered, creative, and have solid user interface and usability design skills

Details:

  • Work closely with Product Management, Development, and Customers as well as collaborate with cross functional teams (product, sales and technology) to set the vision for the overall user experience for Qvidian products

  • Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, usability findings, and following the user-centered design process for Qvidian products.

  • Plan and execute usability research and iterate designs based on findings

  • Facilitate brainstorming and working sessions with cross-functional teams

  • Collaborate with product managers, researchers, visual designers, interaction designers, content specialists, and developers to deliver innovative product designs

  • Design and develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, detailed visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes.

  • Responsibly and effectively advocate for the customer; fostering a shared understanding of the customer-centric intersection between design, content, business and marketing values.

  • Stay up to date with external research and trends in technology, industry, and design

  • Ability to travel up 20-30% of time

Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience as a User Experience/User Interface Designer

  • Online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions required for SaaS and mobile applications.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with product owners and developers for implementation of designs.

  • Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently.

  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.

  • Proficient in the ability to perform usability tests, walkthroughs, heuristic evaluations, interviews, competitive analysis, task analysis, user profiling, and other usability methodologies

  • Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for the web and mobile.

  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Balsamiq, FluidUI, Invision, etc. to develop prototypes and wireframes.

  • Clean sense of design aesthetics, and a natural propensity towards simplification over complication.

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
