The User Interface Designer combines a passion for crafting user-centered solutions with expertise in visual design to deliver the best possible user experience for Boston Proper customers.

The User Interface Designer collaborates with Creative, Marketing, and to understand the customer and business needs, explore experience design opportunities, propose solutions, validate them through testing and user response, specify final designs in detail, and measure success.

Essential Functions:

  • Translate concepts into customer flows, journey maps, wireframes, visual comps, visual specs and clickable prototypes.

  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes and high-fidelity designs for responsive web and email

  • Design visually appealing experiences that feel simple, elegant, and consistent

  • Help to build out a library of reusable components and UI conventions within Amplience.

  • Collaborate with creative team and developers to bring concepts from idea to launch

  • Participate in initial planning of digital assets with Art Director to review incoming briefs, address business goals, and discuss messaging and graphic guidelines

  • Coordinate with Marketing and internal stakeholders to deliver consistently on-brand experiences that meet requirements while bringing value to the customer.

  • Identify and translate customer needs and motivations into compelling user experiences that visually express the Boston Proper brand

  • Develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and UX/UI standards in ecommerce.

  • Expected to clearly articulate the reasoning and strategy behind your designs in all development stages to stakeholders

  • Required to work well both individually as well as a part of a collaborative team that values creativity and flexibility Participating in constructive design reviews and critiques.

  • Work with E-commerce team on a consistent basis to determine changes to strategy, messaging or timing, and react accordingly

  • Pre-and-post site launch audit

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Preferred but not required - a BA/BFA/BS in UI design, new media, multimedia, communication or related field

  • Past experience working for a Lifestyle or Fashion company a plus, but not required

  • Preferred but not required working knowledge of Sales Force Commerce Cloud and Amplience Content Tool

  • At least 3-5 years experience in the retail eCommerce or interactive space as a User Interface Designer or related role A portfolio that includes visual design samples that demonstrate your core skills across a variety of project types Experience producing documentation including, but not exclusive to concepts, user flows, visual comps, visual specs, and visual standards/guidelines

  • Solid prototyping experience to explore and communicate design decisions/front-end development using Sketch, Invision, HTML/CSS, or similar prototyping tools

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of Adobe Creative Suite

  • Strong typography, layout, and visual design skills

  • Strong conceptual ability and understanding of marketing and branding principles

  • Curious, detail-oriented thinker with an ability to see the big picture Customer focus is your passion

  • Interest in emerging user experience trends and new technologies, as well as a forward-thinking mindset Self-starter with an ability to manage deliverables on deadline across simultaneous projects

  • Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles Working knowledge of cross platform, responsive design and grid principles

  • Working knowledge of cross platform, responsive design and grid principles (ie. Mobile, tablet, desktop, app)

The Senior Customer Experience Designer will utilize excellent communication skills, work ethic, organizing work around experimentation and validated learning. This collaborative role works in cross-functional teams aiming to solve complex business problems with a consistent and delightful user experience across all phases of the customer journey. This designer ensures that the Voice of the Customer is considered and integrated through the flows. The CX Designer is responsible for carrying out UX/UI design with the goal of identifying our users' pain points and bounce points. This includes but is not limited to: creating an overarching look and feel for large scale projects, designing best in class visuals and UIs, creating site maps, wireframes, user flows, process flows, prototypes and analyzing the results to come out with actionable insights. Responsibilities: * Designs and conducts front-end development of digital web properties with an emphasis on providing an exceptional user experience using agility through responsive design. * Utilize HTML code execution to prototype email marketing campaigns. * Strategizes and owns the delivery of customer experiences across Bluegreen's array of digital assets. * Continuously updates and modifies Bluegreen's digital properties. * Ensures that digital creative execution meets marketing objectives, remaining in line with strict brand standards. * Manages multiple projects simultaneously, identifies and addresses issues, meeting deadlines, while staying within scope. * Identifies trends and actively improves the customer experience through the application of the latest in front-end development practices and technology. * Creatively executes projects from concept to wireframes to finished designs. * Researches and evaluates new related technologies and ensures optimal web designs that support Bluegreen's communications strategies and goals. * Collaborates with the Creative Director, development partners and other team members to complete projects * Leads multiple projects to completion, considering the full context of the user experience, including business challenges, user needs and technological capabilities. * Demonstrates exceptional visual and product design skills and a mastery of color, composition, form and story when completing projects. * Ensures a consistent, unified user experience across all platforms, basing decisions on industry-standard methodologies, user research, visual patterns and style guides. * Delivers production-ready UX designs in alignment with overarching business and CX goals. * Rapidly drives progress of existing work to project completion. * Works with the team to brainstorm and review designs collectively in a collaborative manner.
