EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Our team wants to change the way enterprise software is built. The User Experience Design role will be supporting special pilot and incubation projects with a focus on validating new enterprise product, technology, and architecture approaches and the goal to actively help shaping SAP's future Cloud ERP architecture.
As part of the product team, you will work on a specific project critical to SAP S/4's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We expect our employees to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the product as we continue to push technology forward.
Overall duties include, but are not limited to:
Your primary mission will be to understand our business needs and product requirements and transform that understanding into user-focused and intuitive products, interfaces, platforms for mobile and web.
You will be part of our product team weaving iconography, typography, color, space and texture together to help our users successfully navigate our products.
We believe that all of our products should be beautiful and accessible. As part of our team, you'll delight users with designs that inspire, engage and excite them.
You'll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visualsfrom concept to executionacross many platforms.
Like all of our UX jobs, you'll collaborate with your fellow designers to constantly refine the our design language and create innovative, great-looking products that people love to use.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and many others to solve complex challenges and craft powerful experiences that highlight our products' unique capabilities and personalities.
Design one or more of our consumer facing products.
Create a look consistent with all of SAP while pleasing our users.
Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively.
Present the user interface visually so information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find.
Market and promote products and features so users understand what they're getting and what the benefits are.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Proficient with design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary UX and/or product teams (motion, interaction, UX research, engineering, UX writer) on technical implementation
Experience implementing visual design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative software development environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile, Android and iOS.
Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design process.
Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
Newport Beach, CA US (must be willing to relocate, if necessary, and work out of this location)
