Job Description:

  • Automotive technicians / auto mechanics perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and standards (i.e. brake pads, rotors, alignments, etc.)

  • Auto techs / automotive technicians perform used car checklists to identify what repairs need to be made

  • Service techs provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs

  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.

  • Automotive technicians inspect and test used vehicles, recording findings, and making necessary repairs.

  • Work on Quick Lane facility repairs as needed

Requirements

As a Quick Lane / Used Car Reconditioning Automotive Technician (Automotive Mechanic), you will be experienced and aware of the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver. We have determined some factors that may enable your success as an Automotive Technician:

  • At least 3 years of previous automotive technician experience in an aftermarket or independent shop environment

  • Hold a valid driver's license

  • Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service

  • Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.)

VIEW JOBS 10/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-13T00:00 Coley & Associates is seeking several Education Technicians who will work onsite at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL supporting the Air Force Civilian Associate Degree Program.  This program is designed to help Air Force civilians reach their full leadership potential by providing a little to no-cost Associate of Applied Science Degree in Air Force Leadership and Management Studies.  Graduates of the program will gain the following competencies: <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">They will have a better understanding of the History and Heritage of the Air Force and what it means to be a professional within the Air Force</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">They will be steeped in the principles of Leadership and Management within the context of an Air Force organization</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">They will have a greater understanding of interpersonal, group and organizational dynamics</li> </ul> <strong>Summary… </strong><br /> Create and execute education support project plans, following a project delivery approach for work and provide support to the Civilian Associate Degree Program (CADP), specifically within the areas of Foundational Studies/Academic Advising.  Academic advising is provided throughout the students’ lifecycle, guiding students through completion of the 30 credit hours within Foundational Studies (General Education and Elective) degree requirements through counseling and advising-related student support courses.   Provide one-on-one as well as in group (class) settings.  Advising/counseling will typically focus on foundational studies requirement completion, but advisors will also provide students with basic information about general policies and procedures of CADP to engage students, identify areas where students may need additional support, and refer student to appropriate available resources.  Communicate with students via phone, email or virtual online meetings using applications such as Adobe Connect.<br /> <strong>This position is contingent on a federal contract award.</strong><br /> <br /> <strong>What You’ll Bring… </strong><br />   <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide academic advising to students within the Air Force Civilian Associates Degree Program (CADP)</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Assist students to complete and/or update advising sheet (also understood as degree plan) based on established, approved list of courses and CLEP/DSST exams and/or understanding of accreditation requirements and subject matter requirements to complete CADP requirements based upon AU Registrar standards</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Work with students to identify a list of CADP approved CLEP/DSST exams that will complete each general education and elective requirement. </li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Review the class to ensure college is appropriately accredited and that the course meets the CADP degree requirements if a student desires to take a class to complete a foundational studies requirement</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Review student transcripts (copy of transcript sent to AU Registrar or unofficial copy sent by student to CADP) to explore whether students may have potentially viable transfer credits if a student has transfer credits to bring into the program. Advisor will understand that AU Registrar will be the formal/final review and approve/disapprove authority and that feedback will be based upon previous AU-approve school/class database</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide information to students and help students update advising sheet</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Document each individual student advising in advising/counseling notes using established CADP/AU systems</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Track all student advising sheets</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Update AU/CADP student record, AFVEC and all other associated CADP/AU systems, as appropriate, each time advising sheet is updated</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Use internal CADP spreadsheet and systems as well as AU and AU Registrar systems to track raw data, final products, and completion or other metrics as appropriate</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Develop draft transfer credit packages, per CADP & AU Registrar format, for students based upon student advising sheet, transcripts, student transfer request form, list of approved transfer courses and exams</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide completed draft to government for review/approval</li> </ul>  <br /> <strong>Educational/Professional Requirements:</strong><br />   <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or Social Work or a related field with 2 years of experience in an academic setting providing advising or counseling OR a Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling or Social Work or a related field or a Terminal degree in Education, Counseling or Social Work or a related field.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Air Force civilian or Air Force military experience</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">U.S Citizenship required </li> </ul>  <br /> <strong>Compensation & Benefits </strong><br /> We offer a highly competitive compensation package including base salary, generous paid time off, and a full range of benefits including medical, RX, vision and dental coverage for full-time regular employees.
