Apogee is actively seeking a full-time RF Systems Electronics Engineering Technician to be located at USCG Base Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, VA. This role will support the USCG Command, Control and Communications Engineering Center (C3CEN) CT-R in achieving its program mission of fulfilling requirements; applying the lifecycle acquisition processes, and assisting the CT-R Asset Line Managers. Given new cyber security requirements, several antiquated RF communications devices must be removed and replaced with systems that adhere to the new security posture. Multiple engineering changes, design efforts and installations aboard numerous class cutters and shore sites must be developed to accomplish the goal of eradicating vulnerable operating systems. Apogee's team will support existing CT-R staff by completing designs, installations and sustainment of the cyber compliant systems.

Duties shall include, but are not limited to assisting the Electrical Engineers for EMI/RADHAZ with the following:
Assisting engineers in conducting studies for EMI and RADHAZ
Constructing Lab Mockups of RF equipment to test EMI conditions seen in the field
Climbing of Cutter Masts to assess corrosion conditions
Maintaining calibration of all EMI equipment
Assessing and repairing RF connectors and cabling as required for EMI/RADHAZ studies
Minimum security clearance of Secret is required
US Citizenship is required
BS in Electrical Engineering or related field OR certification in an advanced electronics program from a technical school OR ten years RF communications system experience to include electronics design and installation plan development (in lieu of degree/certification).
Preferred candidates will have experience developing and managing technical documentation in support of RF Systems:
NARDA Type Radiation Hazard Probes
HOLADAY Systems Radiation Hazard Probes
Rhode and Schwarz PR-100 Portable Receiver
Prior experience with federal government contracting is strongly preferred, with a preference to experience supporting USCG customer's onsite
