Apogee is actively seeking a full-time Configuration Management Specialist to be located at USCG Base Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, VA. This role will support the USCG Command, Control and Communications Engineering Center (C3CEN) CT-R in achieving its program mission of fulfilling requirements; applying the lifecycle acquisition processes, and assisting the CT-R Asset Line Managers. Given new cyber security requirements, several antiquated RF communications devices must be removed and replaced with systems that adhere to the new security posture. Multiple engineering changes, design efforts and installations aboard numerous class cutters and shore sites must be developed to accomplish the goal of eradicating vulnerable operating systems. Apogee's team will support existing CT-R staff by completing designs, installations and sustainment of the cyber compliant systems.

Responsibilities

Duties shall include, but are not limited to assisting the Radio Frequency Communications Division with the following:

  • Configuration Management Planning:

  • Develop CM plans for CT-R systems

  • Configuration Identification:

  • Identify and document the systems configuration relationship including product structure

  • Identify, document and establish system configuration baselines (Functional, Allocated, Product and Software/Firmware)

  • Configuration Change Management:

  • Document and manage system configuration changes proposed during the engineering change process

  • Document and maintain system configuration changes resulting from the deployment of engineering changes resulting from the execution of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO)

  • Configuration Verification:

  • Verify and document initial system configuration by performing functional configuration audits

  • Verify and document system baseline by performing physical configuration audits

Qualifications

  • Minimum security clearance of Secret is required

  • US Citizenship is required

  • Knowledge of and the ability to utilize USCG logistical and support tools such as CGFixIT (Remedy), Asset Logistics Management Information System (ALMIS) Asset Computerized Maintenance System (ACMS) and Fleet Logistics System (FLS)

  • Over 10 years of experience in configuration management preferably in a DHS/DOD environment

  • Prior experience with federal government contracting is strongly preferred, with a preference to experience supporting USCG customer's onsite
