Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Programs Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. Not afraid to be hands-on, you write sample code and client libraries as well as participate in developer forums and support queues to troubleshoot and debug coding problems developers encounter. Internally, you work with product engineering teams to improve our products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API designs, and testing new features. Chrome, Android, App Engine, HTML5, and our core G Suite and Ads APIs are just some of the platforms you promote and support.
As a member of the DevOps and Infrastructure Developer Relations team, you stand at the intersection of a technology movement shaping our world, the people who build it and the customers who use it. You're part of the engineering wing of Developer Relations within Google Cloud.
We ensure that products like Google Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, and StackDriver are amazing for developers and operators. As "customer zero," you're often the first to use upcoming services.
You contribute to related open source projects like Kubernetes and Istio, participate in developer forums, and help troubleshoot developer problems. You provide feedback on API design, platform consistency, and functionality. You write sample code and work with our technical writing teams to produce developer documentation, quickstarts, and tutorials. We craft compelling demos and deliver talks at conferences like Google Cloud Next and KubeCon
This role is for you if you love to produce code that is an exemplar for those that come after you, crave customer interaction and get a thrill from seeing real people use what you've built ,and love learning new concepts and then finding innovative ways to teach those concepts to others.

Write sample code and tutorials for Google Cloud Platform products, services and client libraries and contribute to open source projects.
Manage and participate in developer discussion forums to debug and resolve technical/coding problems.
Build a strong ecosystem for developer products by blogging, writing technical articles, delivering presentations at developer conferences and working with local developer communities.
Help product engineering teams improve developer products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API designs and testing new features.
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in engineering/programming.
Experience developing or operating infrastructure on a cloud computing platform.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: DevOps, Operations, IT Admin, Software Automation, SRE, Continuous Delivery, Networking or Config Management.
Experience committing to and maintaining open source projects.
Experience in two or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Node.js, Go, C/C++, C#, Ruby, PHP.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the desire to share technical knowledge and information with others.
