In the R&D; lab, you design test equipment for prototypes of our machinery and develop the protocols used to scale these tests for the entire global team. As a Hardware Test professional you'll play a key role in the development of one of the world's most impressive computing infrastructures!
You will design tests and write test plans that drive the characterization and qualification of different types of equipment, from networking to server systems. Working closely with design engineers, you provide input on design to improve our hardware until you're sure it meets Google's standards of quality and reliability. Youll perform novel and complex bench level qualification testing of compute hardware, and continuously collaborate closely with design teams to develop and write test plans and execute hardware evaluations, building test infrastructure to comprehensively characterize the performance of server, storage and networking products.
With your technical expertise, you create test plans for highly complex platforms validating the interaction of multiple pieces of equipment at the networking and subsystem levels using your deep knowledge of systems architectures, functional blocks and component design characteristics, youll diagnose highly complex hardware or software issues to root cause and resolution.

Test and debug of prototype power devices and circuits.
Validate performance of power circuits and devices for efficiency, output noise, ripple, regulation, peak, etc.
Experience with DC-DC converters, AC-DC rectifier systems, high power AC distribution.
Write and maintain script programs to automate testing.
Setup and maintain lab space, tools, and materials of a hardware R&D; lab.
MS or PhD with EE, optics, physics or STEM engineering.
4 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in supporting, implementing and/or designing networks.
Knowledge of testing products to compliance with international standards.
Automation of chamber or temperature control system.
