Global Product Partnerships (GPP) manages Content Partnerships (e.g., data licensing agreements) and Actions Integrations (e.g., collaborations to let users do things like reserve a table). These partnerships help build and differentiate Googles products in several areas, including: Search, Assistant, Geo (Maps, Local), News and Publishing, Research and Machine Intelligence, as well as Chrome/Web, Developer Products, Identity, and Lens.
Google partners come in all shapes, sizes, and market caps. As a Strategic Partner Manager (SPM), you will provides a new and exciting opportunity. You want to apply and hone business and relationship skills (e.g., partner management, leadership, strategy, and analytics) with strategic partners across a range of product areas and geographies and be exposed to multiple (internal) functional disciplines (e.g., product management, engineering, business development, policy, operations, etc.). You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explores and uncovers the business needs of Google's strategic partners and understands how our range of product offerings can grow their business and broaden, deepen and strengthen our relationship with them. You will be responsible for enabling products through partnerships, developing the relationship strategy for your partners and deriving insights from the partners and markets you cover to help inform Business Development and product decision. You will also contribute to the partner management strategy across all GPP product areas and contribute to the overall global partner management strategy for GPP.
Googles Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The team partners with Publishers and App Developers of all sizes to promote their ad inventory, working with Google's broad range of partner solutions including AdSense, DoubleClick Platform Solutions and the Ad Exchange, across mobile, display, and video formats, helping our partners and their audiences get the most out of the web. In addition, the Partnerships team supports Googles own product teams with essential partnerships to help power Googles user experiences in search, maps, travel, shopping, payments and more.
Establish and maintain strong direct relationships with GPP strategic partners; establish an identity as the principal and accountable GPP internal interface to GPP strategic partners for internal teams and stakeholders.
Provide thought leadership on Googles relationship management strategy across product areas and regions, working with leads and other SPMs to define and implement GPPs approach to partner management.
Be the GPP point-of-contact for new initiatives that transcend traditional product areas that require GPP strategic partner participation and lead internal cross-functional efforts to identify and solve any roadblocks (internal or external).
Collaborate across GPP and other XFN teams (including Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance, Google Technical Services, Marketing, and Press) to execute partner management initiatives and activities globally.
Maintain a deep understanding of Googles competitive landscape, emerging business trends at the global and regional levels, identify emerging disruptors, and ensure all stakeholder awareness, as necessary and appropriate.
MBA, MS, JD or other advanced degree.
Understanding and experience in all non-transactional elements of partner relationship management including operations, account management, business/product engagement cadence, and legal and conflict-based situation management (i.e. partner litigation, policy negotiations, and disputes).
Ability to understand and prioritize a partners strategic goals and successfully leverage that knowledge to support Googles product ambitions; ability to differentiate and work at strategic and tactical level simultaneously
Ability to concurrently manage multiple time-sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Track record as a strategic thought-leader at a global technology company in business development, partner management, product management, general management, or marketing.
Confident, versatile, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity; communication skills, with the ability to comfortably interact with C-level partner executives.
