As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in creating new consumer electronic products that meet a high bar for reliability and performance. You will work closely with the product management and design engineering teams to define standards, specify tests, and then supervise test execution and failure analysis. A broad engineering background and command of statistical methods will help to inform design of new products. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to ensuring adoption of your technical recommendations.

Conduct reliability engineering and test planning of Fabrics, Soft Goods and their assemblies.
Work with PD/ID/SDE closely to develop new fabrics and materials. Solve reliability problems on fabric and subassembly level.
Drive vendor/supplier to meet stringent reliability standards developed by Google.
Develop reliability performance metrics and lead management reviews to review progress against those metrics.
Manage reliability test planning, methodology failure analysis and execution process for all failures discovered during reliability testing for all aspects of the product.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Textiles Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, related field or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience with reliability engineering for consumer products, accessories, audio/acoustics, soft-goods / textiles, or similar.
Experience with fabric/textile specific standards like ISO and AATCC.
Experience in applying design for reliability and modeling analysis techniques such as FTA, DFMEA, and Weibull.
Masters degree or PhD in Textiles Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
Experience working with overseas manufacturing partners and manufacturing processes.
Statistical analysis experience including Monte Carlo Analysis, DoE, SPC, Gage R&R.;
Experience with failure analysis techniques for electrical, mechanical, audio/acoustics, textiles, or optical components.
Experience with Weibull++, JMP, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW or other programming languages for data analysis and hardware test.
