The Global Merchandising Team owns content programming within the Play Store across all regions and verticals (Apps, Games, Movies, TV and Books). As a Merchandising Manager for Google Play, you will impact millions of users everyday by owning merchandising efforts end-to-end for the Apps vertical globally. This role focuses on the unique experiences for Devices & Platforms such as Chromebooks, Android Go, Android Wear, Android TV, Android Auto, Augmented Reality and Family destination. You will be the expert on the content and user needs for these emerging platforms. You will work with Merchandisers from other verticals and regions, Business Development on understanding strategic partner needs, and Product and Engineering on supporting new platform capabilities. You will set the strategy for and execute against merchandising and retail promotions while continually analyzing performance metrics and optimizing the user experience. You are able to understand what content is compelling for users and can create editorial focused on top user needs. You are also familiar with content publishing systems. You are an early adopter of new technologies and always curious about new devices, platforms, apps and products. You bring extensive experience in an online or mobile business and have a fanatical devotion to the user. You have superb organization and communication skills along with a track record of beating traffic, conversion and business goals.

Set merchandising strategy for these devices and new platforms. Work collaboratively within a cross-functional and international team environment.
Own the merchandising calendars and create apps campaigns and content. Develop user insights, research new and trending apps as well as help test these apps for quality and usefulness.
Create test cases for Merchandising initiatives and document Merchandising processes for different platforms.
Analyze internal data, market research and industry trends to select content to promote and to understand how users are engaging with the recommended apps.
Curate, write and/or edit copy for editorial placements on these devices and platforms, and family destination.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in a merchandising, marketing or partnerships role for an online commerce or digital content business.
Ability to speak and write English fluently and idiomatically
Experience testing or writing reviews of new devices, apps and/or products.
Deep knowledge and experience of the U.S. market and familiarity with other markets.
Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze research or performance data and apply that analysis to optimize merchandising strategy
Ability to advise on strategies and product requirements to enhance merchandising capabilities
Strong writing skills, particularly in the digital and mobile context
