Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

As an Technical Program Manager, you will work closely with software engineers, product managers, and ODMs/OEMs to get high-quality products built, tested and released on time. You will coordinate many moving parts with excellent communication skills. Additionally, you will serve as point of contact for questions about schedules, quality and progress updates. You will identify and managing risks with excellent judgment, deciding when is the right time to accelerate or stop production.

  • Develop and manage hardware project schedules with engineering teams and communicate project status to stakeholders.

  • Work closely with ODMs and vendors on product development schedules, dependencies and budgets.

  • Manage a team of engineering program managers and help with the overall strategy of team.

  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution.

  • Interface between vendors and product engineering teams, setting and managing schedules and milestones.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • Experience managing engineering program managers.

  • Experience in consumer electronics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in product development, program management, project management, professional services or engineering management within the technology industry.

  • Demonstrated understanding of product life cycle, tools and processes and operations planning.

  • Effective business judgment and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and cross-functional teams and vendors.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

We run our advanced core unsupervised analytics engine and machine learning models on hundreds of billions of events from hundreds of millions of users. We are a mix of big data software engineers and inquisitive data scientists. We love finding beautiful patterns in data to catch and prevent malicious attacks against normal good users. We’re also not afraid to get our hands dirty; we get deep satisfaction coming up with and implementing new ideas for improvements to our detection engine.</p> <p><strong>The Infrastructure team</strong>: The Infrastructure team is the backbone of DataVisor. Without our distributed and highly robust systems, business would stop. We tackle important challenges; clients require sub-second response times while we find relationships in terabytes of data for analysis. We’ve created, and continually improve, our massive cluster infrastructure, allowing highly computationally expensive jobs to run smoothly. We love using and learning about the latest technologies such as Spark, YARN, and Docker.
