The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Delivering beneficial customer service projects and inventory dollar investments. Helping to create local inventory turns improvements while reducing non-working inventory

  • Identifying, lead, and implement value stream speed and efficiency projects

  • Working closely with the manufacturing team and value stream leadership to determine how best to resolve supply constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost in the best interest of the supply chain as a whole

  • Maintain and optimize supply planning parameters that align with customer and business requirements for service and inventory

  • Managing the review process and modifying requirements to the source of supply (including purchased finished goods and/or outsourced manufacturing)

  • Managing exceptions (materials, orders) throughout the US regional distribution network

  • Collaborate on any issues related to the demand plans for portfolio management, new product introductions and product phase in/phase out activities

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university

  • Three (3) years experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service, and/or Marketing in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service and/or Marketing

  • Experience in MRP, material planning and scheduling, inventory control and/or supply chain management

  • Knowledge within Demand Planning (DP) and/or Production Planning (PP) functions. Experience in leading or participating on cross-function teams

  • Analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools (Excel, Minitab, etc.)

  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills

  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification or willingness to pursue

  • Experience representing the supply chain organization on business teams

  • Experience utilizing LSS methodologies

  • Recommended experience in sub contracting / outsourcing will be helpful.

  • The role will be intended for St Paul but are willing to consider remote work placement given the right candidate.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

The division plans and sets policy, and coordinates, designs, installs and maintains the department's information technology infrastructure. This includes server systems administration, desktop and mobile computer systems administration, database administration, application development and maintenance, integrated systems development, Internet and Intranet web page developments, data security and governance, geographic information systems (GIS), IT help desk, IT training, imaging services, IT research and development, budget development and monitoring, IT procurement, IT contract administration, and IT project management and business analysis. This position is responsible for business analysis services for MDT. These services may be in conjunction with a larger IT project or may be stand-alone. Services include the ability to employ a variety of business analysis tools and techniques to analyze the problem statements, business processes, identify gaps/downstream impacts, identify/analyze/document requirements and to deconstruct a problem. The successful candidate must be able to utilize the MDT BA Process Flow throughout the life of the project. Documentation, software testing activities, change management, and post implementation analysis are also key responsibilities. Thorough knowledge of business process analysis techniques and tools is a must. A basic understanding of software development activities, including development life cycles, theories, and concepts is helpful. A basic understanding of IT Project Management activities is also helpful. The ideal candidate will have excellent client and business interaction skills as well as outstanding written and verbal communication skills with expertise in relating to technical and non-technical staff.
