The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Delivering beneficial customer service projects and inventory dollar investments. Helping to create local inventory turns improvements while reducing non-working inventory

  • Identifying, lead, and implement value stream speed and efficiency projects

  • Working closely with the manufacturing team and value stream leadership to determine how best to resolve supply constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost in the best interest of the supply chain as a whole

  • Maintain and optimize supply planning parameters that align with customer and business requirements for service and inventory

  • Managing the review process and modifying requirements to the source of supply (including purchased finished goods and/or outsourced manufacturing)

  • Managing exceptions (materials, orders) throughout the US regional distribution network

  • Collaborate on any issues related to the demand plans for portfolio management, new product introductions and product phase in/phase out activities

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university

  • Three (3) years experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service, and/or Marketing in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service and/or Marketing

  • Experience in MRP, material planning and scheduling, inventory control and/or supply chain management

  • Knowledge within Demand Planning (DP) and/or Production Planning (PP) functions. Experience in leading or participating on cross-function teams

  • Analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools (Excel, Minitab, etc.)

  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills

  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification or willingness to pursue

  • Experience representing the supply chain organization on business teams

  • Experience utilizing LSS methodologies

  • Recommended experience in sub contracting / outsourcing will be helpful.

  • The role will be intended for St Paul but are willing to consider remote work placement given the right candidate.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

To provide uninterrupted management of supplies and equipment needs used in the administration of patient care, in all diagnostic and treatment areas. Specific services include: management and distribution of supplies and equipment, inventory and warehousing needs, central supply coordination and distribution, receiving dock operations, and logistical and operational oversight of linen distribution/ management. Management of capital fund account, monitoring and approving expenditures for capital purchases within the Integrated Clinical Enterprise. Assures coordination of work flow effectiveness between VCF based distribution and DC distribution operations. Works to assure standardization of logistics and operations between business entities wherever possible. Reports directly to the AVC/Chief Operational Officer. Maintains department job descriptions and competencies. Facilitates regular scheduled staff meetings. Sets the appropriate fiduciary, ethical, and professional standards for all Supply Chain Materials managers and staff in their internal and external business relations. Ensures that the system's supply chain activities meet applicable corporate guidelines. * Develops and adheres to effective policies and procedures for the management of the Supply chain. Maintains and updates as needed: organizational charts, job descriptions, competency statements and goals. * Prepares and manages the annual budgets for Capital fund and Supply Chain areas: Materials Management, Central Supply, and Laundry/Linen. Identifies: goals, capital needs, operational and staffing plans. And monitors actual to budget. * Reviews quarterly business/variance reports with service line managers, ensuring budget and KPI goals are on target.Plans, develops, standardizes, implements, and monitors supply systems which assure the uninterrupted and efficient distribution and utilization of supplies, equipment and linen across all CLP customer departments. * Compiles department quality and quantity indicators and responds to variations from expectations as appropriate. * Establishes, monitors and evaluates inter-and intradepartmental policies and procedures recommending changes or adjustments which will improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain hospital entities. * Maintains current knowledge and information regarding patient care supplies and equipment. Serves as a consultant to the users of these items. Is accountable (along with the site managers) to oversee any manufacturer recalls and alerts with department leaders and Risk Management as necessary for entire hospital. * Supports and demonstrates a customer services commitment to internal and external customers through adherence to UAMS customer services standards and processes. * Actively promotes support of and compliance to the hospital safety program by enforcing safety rules, expectations, and regulatory standards. Assures safety education is provide on the department and work process level; identifying and correcting unsafe condition or staff practices. * Shares accountability and collaboration with the entire UAMS Supply Chain team of both leadership and staff, to accomplish the department's mission, goals, daily activities, and special projects. * Works with the Procurement Department of Supply Chain Management to ensure that vendors are able to meet our delivery and distribution requirements. * Directs the vendor management (sales rep) badge issuance program. Verifies compliance to policy. Holds routine quality compliance checks. Contacts non compliant vendors. * Monitors and holds sales reps to close adherence of Supply Chain Management policies regarding process for new goods (product) review, new product introduction into approved supply stream. * Responsible for inventory management, inventory control and monitoring of inventories in all ICE areas. * Responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements of the Joint Commission, OSHA, Arkansas Health Department, Centers of Medicaid and Medicare Services (CCMS), HIPAA, local state and federal laws. * Creates and manages the capital budget process. Works with all Service Lines/Departments on capital budget request for new and replacement items. * Updates and maintains ongoing replacement equipment needs for department by working with Clinical Engineering on equipment that is nearing end of life or going out of service. And works with the Service Line Administrators on prioritizing these needs. Ensures whenever possible that all capital items follow the correct process for procurement per UAMS policy. * Coordinates involvement of multiple hospital, clinic and campus departments in facilities projects and helps coordinate equipment installations. Prepares and tracks material required to accomplish project goals and task. * Assist Service Lines/Departments with acquiring capital equipment including answering product question and obtaining quotes. * Able to prioritize request and facilitate problem resolution with little direction. * Resolve issues with receiving, property services and accounts payable regarding capital expenditures Approve of medical equipment purchases with the MEMC process. Qualifications Mininum Qualifications: * Bachelors' degree business, finance, accounting or related field, plus 8 years' experience in Supply Chain, Materials Distribution and/or Purchasing or High School Diploma with 12 years' experience in Operations Management or Supply Chain. * 5 years of leadership experience.
