You work closely with a cross-functional team of web developers and systems administrators, not to mention a variety of both regional and international customers. Your relationships with customers are crucial in helping Google grow its Google Cloud business and in bringing our product portfolio into companies around the world.

The Google Cloud Healthcare and Life Sciences Platform team helps healthcare and life sciences customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Googles global network, web-scale data centers and software infrastructure. As part of an entrepreneurial team in this rapidly growing business, you will help shape the future of research, clinical, pharmaceutical and other healthcare and life sciences related businesses and research organizations and help them scale their data and processes.

As a Solutions Architect you will use your expertise and leadership skills around cloud computing as well as domain knowledge, to design scalable customer solutions on Google Cloud and take them to market. You will champion our platform by presenting these solutions at industry conferences and Google events. Your enthusiasm, technical and business depth, combined with healthcare and/or life sciences experience and excellent speaking skills will help decision makers understand and choose the benefits of Google Cloud for their business to help drive growth and success.

  • Help compile customer requirements as well as survey existing customer IT landscape to enable integrations from PoC stage to a full deployment of products managing healthcare and/or life sciences data in Google Cloud.

  • Define the business case for solutions, design solutions to help prototype and develop the customers new environment, and guide solutions through launch to market. Create training materials, guides, demonstrations and white papers and help scale solutions delivery.

  • Engage standards communities to drive the development of standards that meet platform and customer needs, and ensure that standards implementers know what the Google Cloud Healthcare platform can do for them.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership in cloud computing across multiple channels and become a trusted advisor to decision makers. Provide customer and market feedback to the Product and Engineering teams and help shape product direction.

  • Travel as required in-region for meetings, technical reviews and onsite delivery activities.


Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related Software Engineering field or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working in a cloud computing environment (infrastructure, storage, platforms and/or data).

  • Experience working in a healthcare and/or life science domain, including deploying solutions in healthcare and/or life sciences related IT infrastructure.

  • Experience in writing software in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++, or similar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, related Engineering field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 5 years of experience working with a variety of technology systems, designing solutions or developing applications in healthcare and/or life science environments.

  • Experience working closely with Sales and Marketing teams in cloud computing or related technical fields.

  • Understanding of current trends of healthcare and/or life sciences infrastructure, (including databases, enterprise integration buses, protocols, APIs and formats), security, networking and cloud-based delivery models.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an approachable way for broad audiences, empowering them with memorable and useful information.

As such he ensures full team & platform alignment, including key stakeholders – Clinical Supplies, Legal, Procurement. The CSO PL engage the CSO cross functional team to fuel the project development strategy, developing reliable but aggressive operations plan. He/She monitors the plan execution, reports on status and ensure relevant risk mitigation (timelines, budget, & quality) is developed as needed. The CSO PL is accountable for ensuring the deliverables via effective account, program, project management and leadership skills in a manner that will optimize, integrate and utilize CSO resources and competencies. The CSO PL contributes to the definition of the outsourcing strategy for the project. Ensures reliable performance and productivity by leading and coordinating all platform expertise and services for the allocated project(s) / program(s) and is accountable to both the Project Team and platform for project deliverables, including the timelines, quality and budget. The CSO PL is also the CSO's main interface with other platforms, units for the project and enabling functions. CSO's primary core team member for assigned project/programs. Job Responsibilities * Ensures appropriate communications channels are maintained and reporting schedules adhered to. Key relationship manager for the program. * Responsible for providing input into the operational strategy and accountable for adapting operational plans, with input from all applicable functions within the CSO, in order to propose the optimal clinical operations solutions and scopes of work that creates the most value for the project, team and the platform. * Builds a strong relationship with the project team, platform team and key stakeholders * Develops and negotiates study/program budgets, timelines and other expectations in order to establish clear expectations. Accountable for financial oversight of the project/program. Re-negotiates when required. * Responsible for routine reporting of the project's status to the team & platform * Responsible for assessing the impact of the project for the platform Assesses the impact of the project on the platform * Accountable for ensuring the study/program performance within the CSO and for driving the multi-disciplinary CSO project team according to project requirements & defined project objectives in order to create the most value for the project. * Transmits clear project requirements to the CSO functions. * In conjunction with the function leads within the CSO, builds study teams that are adapted to meet project's needs/requirements. * Sets team goals and provides performance reviews for the team performance. * Lead CSO Operational Project Team meetings to address status (operational, budget & resource) and critical issues. * Foster a true, business minded, customer-oriented atmosphere and skill set for the project team allocated across functions. * Develop and implement continuous improvement for assigned projects to ensure the quality of the deliverables. * Oversight and accountable for project performance to ensure it meets the project expectations as far as timelines, quality and budget.
