This Technical Writer I/II edits operational, instructional, maintenance, and test procedures for multiple user formats. Reviews explanatory and procedural styles for international audiences and edits multi-authored content to maintain continuity of content. Evaluates content for proper grammar and consistent writing styles. Provides oversight for various content types so that company standards are maintained. Dynamically edit, minimalize, format, and prepare current content for conversion to XML. Review XML documents for quality and adherence to semantic tagging standards. Produce internal quality document content which conforms to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.
Primary job functions include:
Process content in support of new product introductions or existing products for use by field service with input from Subject Matter Experts and Project Management.
Builds strong collaborative relationships with multiple departments including Field Service, Quality and Compliance, and Project Management for the timely publication of document content.
Verifies, validates, and edits documentation to ensure accuracy for compliance, process, and quality parameters.
Completes editorial reviews of peers' documents.
Actively involved in continuous improvement projects which will include corporate style guidelines, templates, checklists.

Updates and loads content to a technical publications intranet site.
Maintains and delivers project status information to peers and management.
Adheres to and recommends updates to corporate style and writing guides.
Assists with ongoing departmental and organizational initiatives.
Assists in template editing and development.

Education: BA/BS degree in Writing, Technical Writing, English, Communications, or similar experience. Will also consider a Computer Science/Technical major with a strong aptitude for writing.
2-5 years of technical writing experience.
Experience writing technical content for technology or medical products.
Additional skills and abilities:
Knowledge of XML structured concepts and the associated tools such as oXygen or FrameMaker.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with a Component Content Management System (such as IXIASOFT CCMS) is a plus.
Aptitude for learning, and personal interest in, technology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including the ability to digest and explicate highly technical content.
Some knowledge and experience using 3D Modeling software.
