Job Description:

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy's REVS program is seeking a LAMP Software Developer to join their team remotely.

The Developer designs, develops, evaluates, plans and tests engineering specifications for software programs and applications for the Ration Entitlement Verification System (REVS) in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment:

  • Designs, develops troubleshoots and analyzes software programs for computer based systems. Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis.

  • Develops more in-depth documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code,

  • Under moderate supervision prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

  • Using moderate independent judgement, develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.

  • Provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs.

  • Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • 2+ years of experience developing software in Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP environments

  • IAT level II certification

  • Secret clearance

Responsibilities * Develop, research, design, implement, test and evaluate software and systems in conjunction with hardware product development. * Provide technical input for transition plans to migrate legacy logistics applications and environments to integrate with transformative capabilities. This includes legacy system mapping within the current business process as well as the future-state business process model - including functional capabilities and interface migration needs. * Support validation efforts by working with the logistics community to identify issues. Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. * Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. * Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. * Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures. * Obtain and license software by obtaining required information from vendors, testing and approving products and recommending purchases * Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage and workflow processes, investigating problem areas and following the software development lifecycle.
