Amazon's Global Immigration Team in the HR Services organization is building a best-in-class case management program in Seattle to deliver U.S. immigration support and services to stakeholders across the U.S. The U.S. immigration business consulting team of Specialists, based in Seattle, provides bespoke immigration services and support for stakeholders. In this role you will be responsible for providing immigration case filing strategy, performing assessments on topics such as internal job changes, visa stamping and travel, and helping stakeholders navigate a complex and ever-evolving immigration landscape by providing education and communications on policy changes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Respond to inquiries regarding U.S. immigration case status, potential additional available options, including displacement or transfer strategies, by working closely with employees, their managers and HRBPs, external counsel, and other leaders on the immigration team

  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned businesses to provide holistic and consultative services on available immigration options, internal Amazon guidelines, and/or education on new or changing policies

  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement to ensure scalability

  • Continually update immigration resources (FAQs, intranet content, communications) to promote self-service

  • Work with others on the immigration team to support large scale projects, including writing or deploying communications, executing case filing strategies with outside immigration partners, providing dashboards to stakeholders on project or program progress

This Seattle-based leadership role will have accountability for all aspects of the U.S. immigration program, including managing and developing a team of Immigration Managers and Specialists each of whom have their own remits of running multiple large-scale projects and/or developing relationships with the various lines of business. The leader will work closely with multiple service providers supporting the U.S., will have accountability for service and communication strategy, and will seek to continually evaluating to raise the bar and elevate stakeholder experience. Responsibilities include: * This role serves as the single threaded leader accountable for Amazon's U.S. immigration program and will directly manage other Immigration Managers and Specialists * Deep experience in all aspects of employment-based immigration, including H-1B, TN, L-1, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, PERM, I-140s, as this senior role will be accountable for all U.S. immigration work streams * Set strategy across all work streams, including contact management strategy, content strategy, case filing strategies, service offerings, strategies to close compliance gaps * Create tracking and compliance mechanisms and other dashboards that measure overall health of the program * Review and audit existing processes to ensure ongoing compliance and work with the process team to update processes when new policies or regulations are announced * Benchmark with other similarly situated companies through industry advocacy orgs such as CFGI * Work with senior leadership within the Global Immigration Team, Legal, Public Policy, PR to review and understand impact of immigration changes and develop associated processes or filing strategies as needed * Continually identify areas of redundancy or no-value add to ensure process, procedure, and staffing optimization * Create, develop and maintain a pipeline of candidates for the team, internally or externally, to minimize lead time when hiring Amazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer – Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation Amazon.Com, Inc.
