Job Description

The Department

The US Financial Crime Compliance Team manages the AML and Sanctions Compliance Programs for Invesco's US entities. The team works closely with the EMEA and APAC FCC Teams in supporting Invesco's global financial crime compliance efforts. FCC works with Legal, Compliance and Internal Audit as well as Investment, Sales and Operations Teams to ensure Invesco meets its AML and Sanctions obligations across our global business.

Your Role

The US FCC Manager role involves developing, strengthening, and supporting Invesco's AML/Financial Crime Prevention framework to meet or exceed regulatory and sanctions requirements in the Americas region. This includes providing strategic direction to US Financial Crime Compliance Team members and Invesco US entities, overseeing operational areas, and supporting the Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Providing strategic leadership for the US Financial Crime Compliance team, overseeing all aspects of financial crime risks for Invesco US entities, and coordinating responses to regulatory and internal/third party audit requests.

  • Monitoring and updating US FCC programs and policies, making recommendations for action and remedy of any deficiencies in relation to Invesco's financial crime related policies, procedures, systems, and controls.

  • Working closely with the Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance and Global Financial Crime Compliance team to support Invesco's Global AML and Sanctions Compliance Framework, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policies, and Fraud Prevention efforts.

  • Providing support to various teams as new customers, products, investments, and lines of business are developed, and provide support and advice to US Funds boards and senior management regarding Invesco's financial crime prevention strategy.

  • Overseeing risk assessments of relevant Invesco entities, identifying gaps and recommending improvements to enhance consistency and promote excellence.

  • Ensuring robust processes for the receipt and review of internal Suspicious Activity Reports and reporting to local Financial Intelligence Units. Liaising with law enforcement agencies and provide timely guidance to business units for escalated sanctions and processing requests.

  • Providing AML/Financial Crime advisory support to the business and adequate training to relevant employees and staff.

  • Assisting business areas with drafting and approving regionally appropriate AML language and responses for contracts, RFPs, and DDQs requested by Invesco business partners.

The Experience You Bring:

  • At least 8 years' experience in Regulatory Compliance, Project Management, or a similar field, with previous supervisor/manager experience preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Adequate knowledge of asset management products and services, and an understanding of US AML requirements including those relevant to Mutual Funds, ETFs, and registered investment advisors.

  • Experience managing and implementing projects, including creating project plans, coordinating meetings, communicating expectations, and tracking progress.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent relationship management and team building skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidate should be open-minded, flexible, and willing to listen to others' opinions.

  • Ability to conduct complex analysis, present information in a meaningful way, handle confidential information, and communicate clearly with persons at a wide range of levels on sensitive matters.

  • The individual should have strong organizational skills, the ability to identify and thoroughly investigate reporting discrepancies and determine the appropriate course of action, and the ability to develop operating policies and procedures based on business needs.

  • Experience with Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel and the ability to collect, compare and present data would be helpful in this role.

  • Qualification in AML e.g., Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist recommended; may be required to obtain certification within reasonable timeframe following hire
