Through partnership with the US Field Medical Leadership Team and the Home Office Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area Teams, this role is responsible for ensuring the execution of medical and stakeholder strategies and action plans to support the existing portfolio and pipeline products, at a Country (US) level aligned to the scientific and medical objectives of the company. Additionally, the position will lead the coordination and management of the field business planning process and output, analysis of insight and identification of key themes and trends that are shared across regions.
Define, implement, and drive processes to improve coordination and execution across US Medical Affairs to deliver on annual strategic and tactical plans for Field Medical Affairs.
Ensure the coordination, development, review, and execution of all functional plans across USMA functions and ensure deliverables are met within set timelines
Support the collaboration and communication with NAMA Extended Leadership Team, and other groups as needed.
Partners with Field Medical Leadership, Therapeutic Area Leads, and Medical Excellence Team in execution of team training meetings.
Partners with the NAMA Extended Leadership Team and GIS in the generation and interpretation of Mosaic (CRM) data (execution and insight).
Partners with Mosaic Medical Affairs Governance Team in updating the CRM interface.
Responsible for measuring and reporting on impact of Field Medical Affairs (FMA),
Lead the ongoing budgetary processes as part of annual business planning and review of departmental expenses within Field Medical Affairs, providing critical analysis and forecasting.
Provide leadership for business-critical initiatives and projects as identified by the Field Medical Lead and VP of Medical Affairs.
Serve as the Field Medical representative on various cross-functional Governance and Steering Committee's
Minimum of 6 years of medical/scientific affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, preferably with some experience in rare disease therapeutic areas
Demonstrated experience and success leading large change initiatives in a healthcare delivery system outside of biopharma will also be considered
Previous MSL or MSL Leadership a plus
Advanced degree, with a strong foundation in the sciences
Broad and deep understanding of global and US Medical, Regulatory and Commercial environments
Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, as well as a proven track record of working effectively in diverse teams involving multi-functional disciplines
Highly organized with a focus on execution, problem solving, and improving processes
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead without authority
