This position is responsible to (i) support key senior leaders of the US business (our single largest geographic market), (ii) support the CFO in a variety of cost savings, systems and productivity initiaitves, (iii) be an active participant in the Policy Deployment initiatives of the business and (iv) lead US based accounting personnel and activities in the areas of General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Financial Analysis and Payroll.

  • Manages the day to day efficiencies and effectiveness of the accounting department as well as provide individuals with professional growth. Takes corrective action timely as necessary.

  • Mentor and manage personnel including performance evaluations, coaching, consultations on career opportunities, hiring and terminations. Provide final approval of similar actions for indirectly supervised personnel.

  • Report accurate, timely and GAAP compliant company financial data

  • Directs the daily management of the Teletrac Navman Accounting team in North America in order to attain KPI goals.

  • Coordinate, review and monitor work in all supervised areas to ensure adherence to key internal controls and other established procedures, deadlines and regulatory requirements.

  • Supports company objectives by managing costs and working capital performance.

  • Act as a resource for personnel inside and outside the department for financial information.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to promote efficient and productive financial records audits.

  • Manage an efficient and accurate monthly close process

  • Review high risk account reconciliations on a monthly basis and periodically review other reconciliations to insure proper adherence to policy and best practices. Ensure all reconciling items are cleared timely.

  • Assist the US and senior management team in analyzing business opportunities to maximize returns.

  • Support Sarbanes Oxley documentation and testing requirements

  • Coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to provide useful and timely information to group level.

  • Assist FP&A team in annual budgeting process

  • Promote and support continuous improvement by utilizing FBS tools and practices.

  • Assist the Global Director of Finance in coordinating reporting/responses to tax requests from the parent company.

  • Oversee the preparation of property tax returns on a timely and accurate basis

  • Assist in analyzing and communicating variances from plan and forecast.

  • Assist in hiring activities to ensure a strong funnel of Finance Department talent.

  • Evaluate opportunities for process improvement in month end close, reporting, compliance with SOX and Fortive (Parent Company) policies, and other areas of responsibility Work with the respective functional areas to drive these enhancements.

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields. Minimum of 10 years work experience in Accounting and/or Finance or 7 years of combined public and private sector accounting experience.

  • CPA required, experience in public accounting preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact equally with all levels of the organization from staff to president.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP required.

  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and their effective application.

  • Previous supervisory experience required.

  • Strong experience with Excel spreadsheet software.

  • Experience with SAP preferred

  • Skilled at analysis of financial information and interpretation of such data into key takeaways for non-financial personnel.

  • Skilled at writing and presenting business communications in a clear and concise manner and to synthesize large amounts into key elements for presentation.

  • Ability to pay close attention to details ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

  • Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and implement solutions quickly.

  • Ability to develop creative solutions to problems and work towards continuous improvement.

The candidate bears responsibility for the following duties: * As a trusted financial leader and business partner to the division and operations, this individual will be responsible for monthly and quarterly forecasting within the US and Mexico to ensure accuracy of financial performance and integrity of data shared with the division leadership team. * Drive accurate outlooking, gathering information from management, sales, and production and provide variance analysis vs. prior outlook, budget, and plan. * Maintain financial and internal controls including various reporting and operations tracking systems. * Partner with the Accounting manager to support with all monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes effectively and efficiently. * Support all financial aspects of inventory including inventory reconciliation, cycle count program, slow & obsolete reporting and inventory management. Will also measure, monitor and analyze inventory trends, and drive improvement. * Apply 80/20 thinking across disciplines and sound judgement to reduce complexity and work with team to simplify processes. Drive, monitor, and report Toolbox projects. * Keep the division leadership team informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. * Present an objective opinion as input for business decisions based on facts and data analytics. * Provide guidance to business managers on commercial issues/ decisions. * Review and approve capital spending projects for tooling, presses and other investments through ROI/Payback/DCF. * Prepare and report outlooks and flashes every month with input from plant management teams. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Master's degree and CPA a plus. * Minimum of 7 years broad financial experience. * Analytical, inquisitive and crisp in explaining the story behind the numbers. Strong ability to understand macro and micro trends and quickly discern inaccuracies. * Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, suppliers and all employees as well as an ability to deliver results through others. * Proficiency with diverse computer software systems, especially MS Excel (required) * Advanced experience using various accounting systems such as BPCS. * Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment and solve practical business problems in a prompt manner often under tight deadlines. * Enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to function under minimal supervision. * Proven track record of collaboration skills, personal accountability, effective listening skills, and approachability. * Proven ability to apply ITW principles in a financial environment.
