This position is responsible to (i) support key senior leaders of the US business (our single largest geographic market), (ii) support the CFO in a variety of cost savings, systems and productivity initiaitves, (iii) be an active participant in the Policy Deployment initiatives of the business and (iv) lead US based accounting personnel and activities in the areas of General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Financial Analysis and Payroll.
Manages the day to day efficiencies and effectiveness of the accounting department as well as provide individuals with professional growth. Takes corrective action timely as necessary.
Mentor and manage personnel including performance evaluations, coaching, consultations on career opportunities, hiring and terminations. Provide final approval of similar actions for indirectly supervised personnel.
Report accurate, timely and GAAP compliant company financial data
Directs the daily management of the Teletrac Navman Accounting team in North America in order to attain KPI goals.
Coordinate, review and monitor work in all supervised areas to ensure adherence to key internal controls and other established procedures, deadlines and regulatory requirements.
Supports company objectives by managing costs and working capital performance.
Act as a resource for personnel inside and outside the department for financial information.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to promote efficient and productive financial records audits.
Manage an efficient and accurate monthly close process
Review high risk account reconciliations on a monthly basis and periodically review other reconciliations to insure proper adherence to policy and best practices. Ensure all reconciling items are cleared timely.
Assist the US and senior management team in analyzing business opportunities to maximize returns.
Support Sarbanes Oxley documentation and testing requirements
Coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to provide useful and timely information to group level.
Assist FP&A team in annual budgeting process
Promote and support continuous improvement by utilizing FBS tools and practices.
Assist the Global Director of Finance in coordinating reporting/responses to tax requests from the parent company.
Oversee the preparation of property tax returns on a timely and accurate basis
Assist in analyzing and communicating variances from plan and forecast.
Assist in hiring activities to ensure a strong funnel of Finance Department talent.
Evaluate opportunities for process improvement in month end close, reporting, compliance with SOX and Fortive (Parent Company) policies, and other areas of responsibility Work with the respective functional areas to drive these enhancements.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields. Minimum of 10 years work experience in Accounting and/or Finance or 7 years of combined public and private sector accounting experience.
CPA required, experience in public accounting preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact equally with all levels of the organization from staff to president.
Strong knowledge of GAAP required.
Strong knowledge of internal controls and their effective application.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Strong experience with Excel spreadsheet software.
Experience with SAP preferred
Skilled at analysis of financial information and interpretation of such data into key takeaways for non-financial personnel.
Skilled at writing and presenting business communications in a clear and concise manner and to synthesize large amounts into key elements for presentation.
