About the Role

As the US and Corporate Controller at Spellman High Voltage, you will manage the daily operations of the Finance Department for the US headquarters of a growing, global manufacturer. You will help shape global corporate strategies, work with your counterparts in Mexico, the UK, China, Germany, Japan, and Korea to enhance reporting and assist leaders in identifying growth opportunities.

You will be the Business Partner to the US Site General Manager/Director and aid them and their team in decision making. We have a matrix organization with the US and Corporate Controller reporting solid line to the Chief Financial Officer and dotted line to the Site General Manager/Director.

What You Will Do:

  • Establish, direct, and maintain sound financial accounting practices and procedures, internal controls and management reporting systems for internal and external reporting.

  • Develop procedures, systems, and controls that monitor and ensure accuracy of inventories and assets of the company.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the US Finance and Accounting function with a hands-on leadership style.

  • Responsible for cash management, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Present factual and timely reports and interpretations to management.

  • Oversee the general ledger, site cost accounting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions within the US Finance and Accounting department, as well as the consolidation process and financial reporting.

  • Manage the annual audit for the US consolidated financial statements.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements.

  • Evaluate capital expenditure requests including evaluating lease, make or buy alternatives.

  • Provide leadership and demonstrate commitment to the full implementation of the ERP system, Cost Accounting system, quality standards, and additional automation projects as deemed necessary.

  • Work with CFO to determine long-term strategy, organizational objectives, and short-term tactics.

  • Partner with the site General Manager/Director and provide them and their team with relevant and valuable business financial insights and aid them in making local business decisions.

  • Identify, coach, mentor and develop high performers within the group, as well as others within the Finance team, with a special emphasis around high potential employees.

  • Ensure the members of the Finance team are performing up to expectations around accuracy, timeliness, work ethic and making a valuable impact on the organization and our internal customers.

What You Need:

  • High performing Finance Leader with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in various accounting roles with strong cost accounting background (electronic manufacturing environment preferred) and familiarity with a standard costing and multi-national environment.

  • Previous experience in developing multi-year forecasts as well as annual fiscal budgets.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.

  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams to develop department budgets and forecasts.

  • Ability and willingness to be hands-on in the day-to-day finance process while managing a local finance organization and help lead change of accounting processes within the organization.

  • Effective management of the month-end closing process resulting in accurate and timely reporting of results.

  • Ability to prepare, or manage the preparation of, detailed monthly Management Financial Reporting package with commentary and analysis.

  • Participate in planning and leadership of physical inventories, with experience implementing such.

  • Experience in the use, implementation, and upgrade of ERP systems, preferably Glovia.

  • High proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience in managing the effectiveness of support and responsiveness of the IT Network and ERP systems.

  • Self-Motivated and Innovative, with a strong attention to detail and attitude of ownership of work performed.

  • Proven ability to develop and mentor a highly effective team.

  • Ability to multi-task within a dynamic environment.

Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $168,112 to $214,413. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a highly competitive benefits package.

This position offers a hybrid work model, blending remote flexibility with required in-office days for optimal collaboration and productivity at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.
