The Urology Technician functions as a member of the healthcare team by assisting the urology provider in the examination and treatment of genitourinary disorders. The individual will assist with procedures under the supervision of the treating provider, provide standard patient education and review and update medical records. The Urology Technician performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems' mission, policies and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Completion of a technical program in a medical field. Completion of the following courses or their recognized equivalent:
Anatomy & Physiology or Body & Structure or Human Body in Health & Disease
Pharmacology within six months of hire
Preferred/Optional: Graduate of a surgical technologist program.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Experience working in urology or surgical department.
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Certified Urology Associate (CUA) awarded by the Certification Board for Urologic Nurses and Associates (CBUNA) within three years of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Certified Urology Associate (CUA) awarded by the Certification Board for Urologic Nurses and Associates (CBUNA) at time of hire.
