A leading healthcare organization in Plainview is seeking a Medical Technologist OR a Histology Technician to join the team at one of their labs. Job Description:

• Conducts quality control and instrument check procedures, documenting all related records.

• Prepares and manages paraffin, reagents, and solutions based on standard formulas.

• Processes human tissue specimens by cutting, staining, and mounting.

• Expeditiously handles stat specimens.

• Engages in the department's QA/PI program, enhancing performance through QI activities.

• Participates in Strategic Improvement Process activities and committee memberships as appropriate.

• Collaborates with peers, physicians, and healthcare team members.

• Assumes the role of Clinical Supervisor when needed.

• Manages equipment and supplies, ordering when low or near expiration.

• Performs preventive maintenance on image analyzer and slide maker, ensuring no use of expired reagents.

• Maintains ongoing records, files, and reports, contributing to test script development and system testing.

• Prepares required written documentation for professional and departmental purposes.

Qualifications:

• NY State license - Open to either Histology Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist
• Candidates must be reliable and dependable
• *Attendance and punctuality are extremely important

Schedule:

• Fulltime 4am-12pm 5 days a week

• Fulltime 8pm-4am 5 days a week

• Part time 8pm-4am 3 days a week
