Are you interested in an internship in Philly with URBN for the summer of 2019? Now is your chance! We are currently accepting applications to receive an invitation to the URBN Internship Interview Day that will take place in December.

URBN Community Intern

URBN Community Intern Responsibilities

  • Ideate and brainstorm with team for new ways to develop the URBN Community

  • Interact across social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook

  • Assist in the development of social media and blog assets (taking photos, writing captions, and sourcing images)

  • Curate and moderate images from the URBN Community for

  • Research, pitch, produce, write and edit blog stories and features that represent and elevate the spirit of the URBN Community

  • Help identify influencers across multiple brands and sensibilities to be featured on the internal blog

  • Assist in creating imagery and tools for internal communication

  • Provide administrative support for current and ongoing projects


  • Creative thinker

  • Strong sense of URBN brands and their customers

  • Ability to self-manage, meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Thorough understanding of relevant social media platforms, including Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Tumblr

  • Ability to research and identify tastemakers and trends as related to social media

  • Proficient skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to prioritize projects and multitask

Summary In this community outreach internship you will build your resume while gaining first-hand knowledge of how the nation's largest non-profit organization works, develops and conveys its message to 38 million members across the United States. This internship will begin in the Summer 2018 and extend through the 2018-2019 school year. Responsibilities This internship includes, but is not limited to, volunteer management, program development and design, the coordination of events and volunteers, and organizational communication. It also involves communication initiatives directed toward AARP's membership base, volunteers, and legislators which includes public relations, media relations, message design, health communication, and mass media. As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience with an opportunity to participate in advocacy and outreach campaigns and expand your knowledge of the communication process. Responsibilities include: * Design collateral materials for public education * Work with the Communication Director and other staff to create press releases, Op Eds, brochures, and other written materials for the media, general public, community organizations and legislators. * Compose communication materials to be distributed to our members * Prepare materials to be distributed at events, such as flyers and outreach material * Oversee the event registration process from crafting messaging, invitations, capturing RSVPs and conducting follow-up communications Requirements Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors.
