Urbn Senior Data Analyst, Advanced Analytics

Role Summary

The URBN Advanced Analytics team is a center of excellence for analytical exploration and innovation and collaborates with multiple partners across the organization to ensure data and insights are central to our approach in engaging customers. This role will work closely with direct teammates on the Central Advanced Analytics team, and collaborate with the URBN Data Science group and with Brand Analysts on various projects. Areas of focus will include data analytics, cross-brand reporting, and ML-based project work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in utilizing data science to uncover key insights and decision making and a demonstrated proficiency in coding.

Role Responsibilities

• Perform deep-dive analyses to understand and optimize the customer experience

• Manage data acquisition, cleaning, and processing

• Create reports and visualizations that drive decision-making for a variety of partners, including Marketing, Product, Personalization, and Finance

• Apply statistics in customer modeling and advanced segmentation

• There will also be a variety of opportunities to grow skills in the following areas:

• Cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Snowflake)

• Cloud infrastructure (Virtual Machines, Cloud Storage)

• Performance evaluation of deployed, customer-facing applications and ML models

• Design, build, and evaluate machine learning models spanning from basic regressions to advanced neural networks

Role Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience

• Strong level of proficiency with SQL

• Proficiency in Python (and R is a plus)

• Ability to identify patterns and trends in data and generate relevant business insights

• Ability to communicate complex analytic findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently

• Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture

• Experience with Analytics and Visualization tools, such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, MicroStrategy, or Tableau

• Understanding of fundamental Machine Learning concepts

• Experience with cloud platforms and Infrastructure (Google Cloud, Snowflake, Virtual Machines, Cloud Storage) a plus

• Experience in Customer, Marketing, or eCommerce a plus

• Experience with ML tools, such as Scikit Learn, Jupyter Notebooks, etc a plus

• Degree or relevant work experience in Analytics, Mathematics, Data Science, or any other related Analytical field
